Blinkit on Tuesday announced the launch of the NCMC Bharat Yatra Card, a RuPay-powered, zero-KYC prepaid card that will simplify access to public transport systems across multiple Indian cities.
The initiative has been curated to eliminate the need for city-specific transport cards and enable a unified, cashless travel experience for commuters.
The card has been priced at Rs 50 and has been developed in collaboration with Pine Labs and operates on the RuPay network. The card supports instant UPI top-ups, allowing users to recharge digitally and use the same card for metro rail and bus services in participating cities.
The launch of this card is part of a broader effort to promote digital payments and encourage greater adoption of public transport by making ticketing and access systems more convenient and interoperable across regions.

While taking it to social media platform X, Blinkit wrote, “It's an Rs 50, zero-KYC, RuPay-powered card by PineLabs which supports instant UPI top-ups and also eliminates the need for city-specific transport cards. This is a meaningful step in enabling public transport usage (metro and buses) across different cities in India.”
The NCMC Bharat Yatra Card will initially be available for home delivery through Blinkit in Delhi NCR, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Chennai, and Ahmedabad. The company indicated that the rollout will expand to more cities in phases.
Blinkit further added, “We've started deliveries in Delhi NCR, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Chennai, and Ahmedabad.”
Card based on the NCMC framework
The card is based on the National Common Mobility Card (NCMC) framework, which aims to create a unified mobility ecosystem in India by integrating multiple modes of transport under a single payment solution, supporting the government’s vision of seamless, multimodal urban mobility.
With this launch, Blinkit joins the growing list of digital platforms contributing to the development of a standardised, interoperable public transport payment infrastructure across the country.
What is NCMC?
NCMC stands for National Common Mobility Card, which is an interoperable, contactless smart card launched in 2019 by the Indian government. The card launched by the government in view of aligning the initiative for ‘Digital India’ offers seamless, "tap-and-go" payments across metros, buses, parking, tolls, and retail outlets. It operates as a prepaid, debit, or credit card, featuring an offline wallet for low-value transactions.
