‘Seva Pakhwada’ launched in Palghar to mark PM Modi's 75 birthday

The ‘Seva Pakhwada’ (Service Fortnight) under the Maharashtra government’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Rajaswa Mission was formally launched in Palghar by District Collector Indu Rani Jakhar, an official said on Friday. The 15-day-long Sewa Pakhwada has been launched by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to mark the 75th birthday of its pre-eminent leader.

The initiative, which runs from September 17 to October 2, aims to provide citizens with direct access to services and faster delivery of welfare scheme benefits, he added.


The programme is part of the state government’s effort to bring efficient, people-centric governance to the grassroots level, reported news agency PTI.



The official quoted above said Jakhar reviewed various development initiatives and government schemes in Jawhar and Mokhada talukas. She inspected farm ponds constructed under MGNREGS, reported PTI. In Mokhada taluka, 53 farm ponds have been approved for 2025-26, while the figure is 35 in Poshera, 10 in Hirve and eight in Ase. Each pond stores 2.5 lakh litres of water.

Diplomats from 70 nations plant saplings during ‘Sewa Pakhwada’ in New Delhi

Diplomats from 70 countries planted saplings at the Central Ridge in the national capital on Thursday as part of the Delhi government’s 15-day ‘Sewa Pakhwada’.

A total of 75 diplomats, along with Union Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and Delhi Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa, attended the event.

Gupta, who planted a tree under the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign initiative, said in a post on X that the participation of 75 diplomats from 70 countries has given the campaign a form of global cooperation and shared responsibility.

“Under the Seva Pakhwada being observed on the birthday of the visionary Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji, the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam 2.0’ campaign not only conveys the message of environmental conservation but it is also a symbol of gratitude towards our Mother Earth,” she said.

Sirsa in a post on X said that the participation of foreign diplomats transformed the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ mission into a global event.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone for the country's first PM MITRA Park and launch the fortnight-long 'Sewa Pakhwada' during his visit to Madhya Pradesh's Dhar district on Wednesday, CM Mohan Yadav has said.

The PM will also launch the Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar Abhiyan on Wednesday at Bhainsola village in Dhar district, Yadav said in a statement to the media on Monday night.
