The Indian Railways has invited applications for 11,127 Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP) positions across all zones. The online application process will begin on May 15, 2026 and close on 14 June 2026 at 23:59 pm, an official statement said on Thursday.

An official notification was issued by the Central Railway's Solapur division.


Eligibility and applications



Candidates must apply only through official Railway Recruitment Boards (RRB) websites or the central recruitment portal at https://www.rrbapply.gov.in

Candidates are advised to ensure that their personal details match exactly with their Aadhar card and 10th class certificates.

The Aadhar should be updated with the latest photograph and biometric information. Verification of primary details via Aadhar is mandatory to avoid delays during scrutiny.

"Candidates are strongly advised to rely only on official RRB websites for authentic information and to beware of touts, brokers and job racketeers," officials said.

Key instructions -

- Candidates are advised to verify their primary details using Aadhar during the application process to avoid delays due to detailed scrutiny at every stage for non-Aadhar verified applications.

- Name and Date of Birth in Aadhar must match exactly with the details in the 10th class certificate. Aadhar should also be updated with the latest photograph and biometric details before applying.

- The notice is indicative in nature issued for the purpose of keeping prospective candidates informed and to be in readiness with necessary certificates and documents, and detailed eligibility criteria, terms and conditions will be published in the CEN No. 01/2026 (along with any corrigendum) on the official websites of RRBs.

The official notice along with detailed eligibility criteria, terms, and conditions, will be published on all RRB websites, including Ahmedabad, Ajmer, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Bilaspur, Chandigarh, Chennai, Gorakhpur, Guwahati, Jammu-Srinagar, Kolkata, Malda, Mumbai, Muzaffarpur, Patna, Prayagraj, Ranchi, Secunderabad, Siliguri, and Thiruvananthapuram, the statement said.

Big reforms

According to the statement, as part of its reforms, the Ministry of Railways introduced an Annual Recruitment Calendar in 2024 for Group ‘C’ posts. This structured approach provides -

- More employment opportunities for eligible candidates

- Fair chances for newly eligible applicants each year

- Predictable schedules for exams and recruitment

- Faster recruitment, training, and appointments
