Panic broke out at the Rajasthan High Court (Jaipur Bench) on Friday after an email threatened to bomb the court premises, promIANSng a massive security response, officials said, reported the IANS.

The email, which also contained political and sensitive remarks about the Tamil Nadu government and rape cases involving minors, warned authorities to evacuate the building immediately or face “serious consequences.”

Judges, lawyers, and court staff were quickly evacuated as police, bomb disposal squads, dog units, and civil defence teams launched a thorough search of the entire complex.

“The High Court has been completely evacuated. No one is being allowed inside,” said DCP Rajarshi Raj, adding that fire and security personnel were conducting a detailed inspection.

A cybercrime team has started tracing the email’s source to identify the sender and assess the authenticity of the threat. Security has been tightened in the surrounding areas, and police have cordoned off the site as crowds gathered outside, according to the IANS.

The incident comes shortly after a series of similar hoax bomb threats were emailed to schools and court buildings in Jaipur and the Sessions Court in Shivdaspura. All previous alerts were later found to be hoax.

Officials said that the latest threat was received by the POCSO Court located on the fourth floor of the Sessions Court complex.

DCP West Hanuman Prasad Meena said that police and emergency teams were immediately deployed, and the premises were searched thoroughly as a precaution, as per the IANS.

In an another incident earlier this month, security was beefed up at the Patna civil court following a bomb threat received by the authorities, officials had earlier said.

The entire court premises were thoroughly searched, but no suspicious object was found, they said.

"A bomb threat was received on the email of the office of the district judge, Patna civic court. It mentioned that explosives were planted inside the court premises. Security was immediately beefed up, and bomb disposal and dog squads were pressed into service," Patna (Central) SP, Diksha, had told IANS.

"Offices within the court premises were thoroughly checked and nothing was found... Prima facie, the mail appears to be a hoax," she said.

A case has been registered, and the cyber cell is looking into the origin of the email, the SP added.
