NCP Maharashtra chief Jayant Patil Monday appeared before the ED in Mumbai to face inquiry in connection with a case on alleged irregularities in the now bankrupt financial services firm IL&FS. The 61-year-old MLA from the Islampur seat of Maharashtra reached the ED’s Ballard Estate office in South Mumbai. NCP workers on Monday staged a protest outside the ED office over the NCP leader’s summon. While speaking over the summon Patil said he is not aware about any matter pertaining to IL&FS yet he will cooperate with investigative agencies.
