Women Officers To Be Commissioned In Artillery Corps, Says Army Chief Manoj Pande

In a positive proposal that if accepted, will boost gender equality and will further empower the women in the Indian Army. The Army has sent a proposal to the Government to commission women officers into the Indian Army’s Corps of Artillery, informed Indian Army Chief General Manoj Pande on January 12 in Delhi at a press conference. The Army Chief informed about Army Martial Arts Routine that will help in dealing with combat situations. “Women officers would be commissioned into the Indian Army’s Corps of Artillery. We have sent the proposal to the government and we hope that it will be accepted,” the Army Chief said. “We also have the Army Martial Arts Routine (AMAR) which will help in dealing with combat situations. It is an amalgamation of different martial arts in the country,” he added
