Almost the whole of Indian tuned in to the Oscars, but how many of us know Pinki Sonkar of Dabai village, Uttar Pradesh. Pinki attended the much-talked about 81st Academy Award ceremony held at Kodak Theatre on Monday. Missed her, did you?

This could be because Pinki has little to do with mainstream cinema. She was a part of Smile Pinki, the 39-minute documentary, which won the Oscar for best short documentary film.
