Having multiple captains will only create chaos in the Kolkata Knight Riders team, say readers

Sourav Ganguly is controversy's favourite child, especially when it involves the Aussies. Former coach Greg Chappell had a grudge against Ganguly and now it's the coach of the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).u00a0

In the first edition of the Indian Premier League, Ganguly successful captained KKR. But this year, John Buchanan has come up with a strategy of multiple captains to lead the team. If this strategy is used, Ganguly may not be able to captain the side in all the games.

Buchanan should consider himself lucky that IPL 2 has been shifted to South Africa, as the Indian cricket fans would not have spared him here.u00a0u00a0

Ganguly has been India's most successful captain and he's the best the world has seen in recent times. I fail to understand what Buchanan is thinking by appointing comparatively inexperienced players for the job.u00a0u00a0u00a0

If KKR goes ahead with the idea of appointing multiple captains, they will miss out on being led by an excellent skipper. Moreover, the players will be confused, as they will not know which leader to look up to.

Also, every captain will have a different take on the batting line up, bowling strategy and field placement and this will lead to further chaos. Moreover, the concept of multiple captains will also lead to groupism. This idea of appointing four captains will very likely fail.u00a0u00a0u00a0

Attention SRK
It's not a great time for Sourav Ganguly. KKR coach John Buchanan has decided to have multiple captains for the team. But with a player like Ganguly leading the side, there's no need for another captain. The Prince of Kolkata is one of the best captains to have led the Indian cricket team.

I fail to understand what the Aussies have against Ganguly. First it was Greg Chappell and now it is Buchanan. KKR owner Shah Rukh Khan should not forget the Chappell episode and must refuse to replace Ganguly as the skipper.

This is the Indian Premier League and it's sad that the foreigners are calling the shots. Shame on the cricket board, which is considered to be the most powerful cricketing body in the world.u00a0
