A group calling itself Bank Bosses are Criminals has vandalised the home of a Royal Bank of Scotland executive.

The anti-capitalists claimed responsibility for thrashing the home of disgraced former Royal Bank of Scotland boss Sir Fred Goodwin.

Several windows in the ex-RBS chief executive's luxury villa in Edinburgh were smashed and a Mercedes in the driveway was damaged.

Sir Fred, who is at the centre of a huge row over his u00a316million pension, was said to be 'shaken' by the vandalism, but was not thought to be at the house at the time.

Bank Bosses Are Criminals later claimed responsibility and ominously warned the attack was only the start of a campaign against executives.

"We are angry that rich people like him are paying themselves a huge amount of money and living in luxury, while ordinary people are made unemployed, destitute and homeles," the protesters said in an e-mail sent to media organisations.

"This is a crime. Bank bosses should be jailed. This is just the beginning."
