Chinese President Xi Jinping was on Tuesday conferred with the Nishan-e-Pakistan, Pakistan's highest civilian honour, by President Mamnoon Hussain at a brief ceremony here at Aiwan-e-Sadr

Islamabad: Chinese President Xi Jinping was on Tuesday conferred with the Nishan-e-Pakistan, Pakistan's highest civilian honour, by President Mamnoon Hussain at a brief ceremony in Islamabad at Aiwan-e-Sadr.

The ceremony the presidential house was attended by Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, federal ministers, members of National Assembly and Senate, services chiefs and the Chinese president's accompanying delegation.


Nishan-e-Pakistan is the highest of civil awards and decorations given by the Pakistan government for the highest degree of service to the nation. The award was established on March 19, 1957.



Late Indian Prime Minister Morarji Desai was also conferred this award in 1990
