A 28-year-old Hyderabad man working the night shift at a gas station in Denton in Texas, USA, was shot dead on Friday. The deceased, identified as Pole Chandrasekhar, collapsed and died on the spot after an African-American man reportedly fired shots at him. The shooting caused panic in the area.

Chandrasekhar had been in the US since 2023 after completing a bachelor’s degree in dental surgery in India. He recently finished a Master’s course in data analytics in Texas, but was yet to find a full-time job.

This is the second crime against an Indian in Texas in the past month. Last month, a 50-year-old Indian motel manager was beheaded in front of his wife and son in Dallas following a dispute over a broken washing machine. The victim, identified as Chandra Mouli Nagamallaiah, originally from Karnataka, was attacked by his co-worker, 37-year-old Yordanis Cobos-Martinez.
