On August 29, Genelia Deshmukh revealed she had tested COVID-19 positive three weeks ago, adding that her report came in as negative. Taking to Instagram, Genelia wrote: "Hi, I was tested COVID positive three weeks ago. I was asymptomatic for last 21 days. With God's grace I tested negative today. As much as I count my blessings that my battle with the disease has been much easier but at the same time I must admit that these last 21 days in isolation have been the most challenging to deal with. No amount of FaceTime and digital immersion can kill the evil of loneliness. I am happy to be back with family and loved ones. Surround yourselves with love... that's the true strength and it's all one needs. [sic]"

Genelia Deshmukh in a chat with mid-day revealed that the family, including husband Riteish Deshmukh, underwent tests at Lilavati Hospital in Bandra, in the second week of August. "We were in close contact with someone who had tested positive, so we did the tests as a safety measure. I was sure I hadn't contracted the virus as I didn't show any symptoms. So, it was surprising when I was the only one in the family to test positive. I immediately moved out of their Worli residence to practise the 14-day quarantine in their suburban apartment. "Though I remained asymptomatic, I tested positive again after 14 days. So, I was recommended another week of quarantine," said Genelia

Used to the hustle and bustle that comes with raising two kids, Genelia Deshmukh said the silence was initially unsettling. "My doctor had warned me that those quarantining feel bouts of loneliness. It was tough to be locked away from Riteish and the kids. Thankfully, Riteish, my mother and mother-in-law, Riaan, Rahyl and my friends would take turns calling me. They made sure I didn't feel lonely." She utilised the time to practise yoga and meditation, and ate clean. "I stuck to plant-based food and smoothies during this period."

  • Gurmeet Choudhary and Debina Bonnerjee spotted in Bandra

Gurmeet Choudhary and Debina Bonnerjee were spotted with their pet in Bandra. The couple sported a casual look as she stepped out of their car, the duo also wore protective face masks. Gurmeet recently landed back in Mumbai along with the rest of the unit, after an outdoor stint for the film, The Wife, in Jaipur. "Completing the film was a challenge during this pandemic as we weren't shooting in Mumbai, we were shooting out of the city. When you are shooting outside the city, the major concern is if someone contracts in the team Covid-19 then we would need at least a 21-days quarantine and keep the shoot on hold. The cycle would going if the number of cases increased," he said in an interview.

"I think our film is the first one in Bollywood to start during the pandemic and end smoothly with no (Covid positive) cases," Gurmeet added. He expressed concern about the workers. "We had to be sure that even when the shoot was over, everyone needed to be negative. The entire team of 100 to 120 tested negative and after that we took the decision to return. I feel it is an achievement in itself that as a team we worked together and headed back safely," he said.

Gurmeet Choudhary further added, "Many shoots have been kept on hold and people have lost their jobs. Lightmen, cameramen, actors, spots, directors, assistants and roughly 300 people are involved in making a film. Many have been sitting at home without work, or heading back to their villages. I think this is positive that a film went on floor in the Covid-19 era and it worked out smoothly."
