    Roger Moore played James Bond starting from 'Live and Let Die' (1973). He went on to star in 'The Man with the Golden Gun' (1975), 'The Spy Who Loved Me' (1977), 'Moonraker' (1979), 'For Your Eyes Only' (1981), 'Octopussy' (1983), 'A View to a Kill' (1985). Moore remains the oldest actor to have played 007. 'Octopussy' also starred Kabir Bedi and Indian tennis legend Vijay Amritraj.

    Legendary Scottish actor Sean Connery was cast in the first cinematic adaptation of Ian Fleming's James Bond novel 'Dr. No'. Connery went on to essay the iconic 007 in 'From Russia with Love' (1963), 'Goldfinger' (1964), 'Thunderball' (1965), 'You Only Live Twice' (1967), 'Diamonds Are Forever' (1971) and 'Never Say Never Again' (1983). All films were produced by Eon Productions. Connery was tempted back for his last Eon-produced film 'Never Say Never Again', after Australian actor George Lazenby left the role.

  • Pierce Brosnan
    Irish actor Pierce Brosnan was cast as Bond in 'Goldeneye' (1995). The film was seen as a reboot of the James Bond franchise after a six-year hiatus, during which a legal wrangle threatened Eon's productions of the Bond films. Brosnan later did 'Tomorrow Never Dies' (1997), 'The World Is Not Enough' (1999) and 'Die Another Day' (2002). Halle Berry recreated Ursula Andress' famous bikini scene from, 'Dr No' in 'Die Another Day'.
  • Daniel Craig
    British actor Daniel Craig was cast as the famous fictional secret agent in 'Casino Royale' (2006), which was promoted as another series reboot. The film went on to become the highest-grossing in the James Bond film series at the time. It was followed by 'A Quantum of Solace' (2008) and then 'Skyfall' (2012), which is now the highest-grossing film in the series, as well as the highest-grossing film in the UK and the twelfth highest-grossing film of all time. 'Spectre' (2015) is the latest feature of the franchise. Outside of the Bond films Craig has acted in 'Lara Croft: Tomb Raider' (2001), 'Road to Perdition' (2002), 'The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo' among other films. He also made a guest appearance as 007 in the opening ceremony of the London 2012 Olympic Games, alongside Queen Elizabeth II.
  • George Lazenby
    A former model, George Lazenby acted in the sixth James Bond film, 'On Her Majesty's Secret Service' (1969). He was only 29 at the time. Lazenby's refusal to act in only one Bond feature caused his career to stall in the 1970s and he moved into business and invested in real estate. He later appeared in several films and television series, including roles spoofing the James Bond character.

  • David Niven
    English actor David Niven essayed James Bond in the spoof 'Casino Royale' (1967), which also starred Hollywood stalwarts like comedy legend Peter Sellers, Woody Allen and Orson Welles. Ursula Andress best known for her role as Bond girl Honey Ryder in the first James Bond film, 'Dr. No' played Vesper Lynd. Originally produced by Columbia Pictures, the film gained notoriety due to Peter Sellers abruptly leaving production due to his alleged differences with Orson Welles.
  • Timothy Dalton
    Timothy Dalton took over from fellow Englishman Roger Moore as James Bond in two films 'The Living Daylights' (1987) and 'The Licence to Kill' (1989). Dalton revealed in an earlier interview that had been considered for the role twice, once in 1968 for On Her Majesty's Secret Service and again in either 1979 or 1980. Timothy Dalton turned down the first offer as he felt too young to portray such an important character. He rejected the offer a second time as he didn't like the direction the films were taking at the time.
