Shraddha Das, born on March 4, 1987, is an Indian actress who was born in Mumbai to Bengali parents. Her father is a businessman from Purulia in West Bengal, while her mother is a homemaker. (All pictures/Shraddha Das' Instagram Handle)
Shraddha was brought up in the city of dreams where she completed her studies. She graduated from the SIES College of Commerce and Economics with a Bachelor of Mass Media degree in Journalism.
But Shraddha was more interested in the performing arts. While completing her graduation, she tried her hand at theatre and attended workshops by theatre greats like Piyush Mishra, Chittaranjan Giri and Salim Shah.
Shraddha Das started off her career in the entertainment industry by getting featured in print advertisements and she did over 400 catalogues before training at the Gladrags Academy.
Shraddha Das got her big break in 2008 when she signed her debut Telugu film Siddu from Sikakulam, which also starred Allari Naresh and Manjari Phadnis.
After Siddu from Sikakulam, Shraddha went on to sign four more Telugu films within six months. The films she signed were 18-20 Love Story, Diary, Adhineta and Sukumar's Arya 2, which was her first big hit.
2010 was the year when Shraddha made her Bollywood debut. She shot for the film Lahore during her last year of college, but the film was delayed and many of her other films got released first.
Lahore was directed by Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan and co-starred Aanaahad. The film also won two awards at the 57th National Film Awards.
Shraddha Das' second Hindi film was Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji that released in 2011. The film starred Ajay Devgn, Emraan Hashmi and Omi Vaidya, and received a decent response at the box office.
Shraddha's Bengali debut happened in 2014 with the film The Royal Bengal Tiger. In the same year, she had two Hindi releases - the romantic comedy Lucky Kabootar and Vivek Agnihotri's erotic thriller Zid. Talking about Zid, Shraddha had told IANS, "I think the release of Zid boosted my career in Bollywood. I have been getting a lot of offers."
Shraddha has since worked in popular Hindi films like Great Grand Masti starring Riteish Deshmukh, Vivek Oberoi and Aftab Shivdasani, and Babumoshai Bandookbaaz alongside Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Bidita Bag.

Shraddha will next be seen in the Kannada films Kotigobba 3 and Udgharsha. She will also be making a special appearance in the Tamil film Ayogya.
Shraddha is an excellent dancer and likes to make dance a part of her workout routine. Being a Bengali, the pretty actress loves fish and prawns are her favourite. She also likes bingeing on sweet treats like the Bengali dessert Sandesh.
Shraddha Das is extremely fond of animals, especially dogs. She frequently posts pictures of herself with her pets on Instagram and has said in an interview that whenever she sees a dog, she feels like taking the pup home.
