Directed by Omung Kumar, Sarabjit grabbed a lot of eyeballs for Randeep's performance, especially his transformation to look lean. Randeep, who loves to eat, had to go on a near-starvation diet. He was closely supervised by a doctor and his sister.
Ranveer Singh: Ranveer Singh shed his muscles for Gully Boy, to fit into the role of a rapper. It was a big challenge for Ranveer to shed muscle for the film because he had significantly beefed up for his role of Alauddin Khilji in his previous film Padmaavat.
Rana Daggubati: Rana Daggubati is known for experimenting with his weight for his roles. His physical transformation into the fearsome Bhallaladeva for Baahubali: The Conclusion (2017) was lauded, which was a result of more than a year of rigorous workout and diet. The actor, later, for the Hindi-Telugu-Tamil trilingual franchise, Haathi Mere Saathi, shed almost 15 kg in over three months. He did so by abstaining from eating non-vegetarian food, stopping his weight training and only doing light cardio exercises to shed muscles.
Rajkummar Rao: Rajkummar Rao was seen sporting a potbelly without using prosthetics. The actor had gained weight for his web series Bose. Rao had previously shed weight for another film Trapped, and later became fighting fit for his role in the film Behen Hogi Teri. Rao had also shared the three different pictures of his aforementioned looks on Instagram.
Aamir Khan: Mr Perfectionist of Bollywood, Aamir Khan is known to gain or lose weight as required according to his on-screen character. For the role of Mahavir Phogat in Dangal, Aamir ensured his weight fluctuated based on his character's looks, which was shown ageing at different time leaps in the film. The actor also had to manage his shooting schedule to facilitate the transformation. That's some hard work, and it paid off at the box-office.

Bhumi Pednekar gained 15 kgs for her debut film Dum Laga Ke Haisha, in which she starred opposite Ayushmann Khurrana. Bhumi dropped 20 kgs for Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, in which she shared the screen with Akshay Kumar.
Vidya Balan: Vidya Balan essayed a character inspired by the late Silk Smitha in The Dirty Picture. Vidya underwent weight gain for some scenes in the film's climax. The actress also won the National Film Award for Best Actress for The Dirty Picture.
Priyanka Chopra: Priyanka Chopra experimented with her weight for the 7 characters of various ages that she portrayed in 7 Khoon Maaf. As Priyanka's characters in the film changed with age, so did her weight.
Kangana Ranaut: Kangana Ranaut gained weight for the role of a married woman in Tanu Weds Manu Returns and lost kilos for the character of a Haryanvi athlete in the same film.
