How adorable is this vintage photo! Mana and Suniel twin while Suniel holds baby Athiya in his arms. As a young girl, Athiya studied at the Cathedral and John Connon School and later shifted to the American School of Bombay.
In school, Athiya participated in plays alongside Shraddha Kapoor and Tiger Shroff. At 18, she moved to New York to enrol at the New York Film Academy to learn acting.
From her pictures, we can deduce that Athiya is extremely close to her dad Suniel Shetty. Doesn't this photo speak volumes about the lovely bond the father-daughter share?
Athiya Shetty made her Bollywood debut with the film Hero, which also starred Sooraj Pancholi, with whom the actress is good friends with. She was then seen in films like Mubarakan, Nawabzaade (special appearance), and will soon be seen in the film Motichoor Chaknachoor opposite Nawazuddin Siddiqui.

Recently, there was news that Suniel Shetty had been interfering in the filmmaking process of Athiya's next. To this, Athiya told mid-day, "I don't know where the rumours started from. It is not true. He hasn't even seen the film, let alone interfering. He chose to remain silent on the matter because nothing ever happened. I do discuss my work with him, but the final call is always mine."
She further said, "After Mubarakan (2017), I wanted to do something that would break the mould. I wasn't getting the offers I wanted. When this came my way, I decided to take it up as a challenge. Also, the idea of working with Nawazuddin [Siddiqui] was exciting."

Athiya Shetty's upcoming comedy, Motichoor Chaknachoor, sees her play a small-town girl who harbours dreams of settling abroad. The actor reveals that she had to pick up Bundeli to do justice to her part of a Bhopal girl.

Athiya said in an interview with mid-day, "I believe doing workshops is half the battle won. Initially, it wasn't easy to get the dialect right while using it in [conversations]. I worked on it for a few weeks with the film's writer as part of my prep."
About sharing screen space with Nawaz, Athiya said, "As an actor, he loves improvisation. [It was fascinating] to see how he added [nuances] to a scene. At the end of the day, it's these little things that make a scene complete."

"He also made me realise that less is more, especially when you are doing comedy because it need not be exaggerated all the time." Motichoor Chaknachoor hits theatres on November 15, 2019," she further said.
