In a historic milestone, indigenous LCA Mark 1A fighter aircraft on March 28 completed its first flight. The aircraft airborne for 15 minutes during its first maiden flight, as per Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL). Currently, two squadrons of IAF, 45 Squadron and 18 Squadron, are fully operational with LCA Tejas. HAL has current capacity to build 8 LCA aircraft per year, this is being increased to 16 aircraft's every year by 2025. In coming years the capacity will be further increased to 24 aircraft every year in the next 3 years. Over Rs 9000 crore have been sanctioned for the development of LCA Mk 2, an updated and advanced version of LCA Tejas. Earlier in the 2023, Air Chief Marshal stated that the Indian Air Force aims to replace the MiG-21 fighter jets with LCA Tejas.

54th IFFI Event: The 54th edition of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) kicked off on November 20 at the Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Indoor Stadium in Taleigao-Goa which is scheduled to go on till the 28th of November. From Shahid Kapoor, to Sunny Deol, Madhuri Dixit, Shreya Ghoshal, Karan Johar, Sara Ali Khan and many others attended the IFFI event in Goa. Madhuri Dixit was honored with an award for her contribution to Bharatiya Cinema Award at IFFI 2023. Sunny Deol made his debut at the festival. Preparations were underway at Kargil War Memorial in Ladakh on July 25 for the celebrations of Kargil Vijay Diwas. Notably, July 26 is celebrated as Kargil Vijay Diwas every year to observe India’s victory over Pakistan in 1999. This year, India will celebrate 24th Kargil Vijay Diwas. Kargil War was one of the toughest wars fought in the most inhospitable conditions, both due to its geographical and climatic conditions. During the war, the Indian Army recaptured the strategic peaks of Tololing, Tiger Hill, and Point 4875, among others. A wreath-laying ceremony will take place on July 26 giving tribute to the soldiers who sacrificed their lives during Kargil War.
