PM Modi attended a programme marking 'Veer Baal Diwas 2023’ at the state-of-the-art Bharat Mandapam on Dec 26. Last year, on the Prakash Purab of Sri Guru Gobind Singh, PM Modi announced that Dec 26 would be marked as 'Veer Bal Diwas'. The day honours the sacrifices of “Sahibzade”, four sons of Guru Gobind Singh. The youngest sons Baba Zorawar Singh and Baba Fateh Singh were bricked alive in a wall. Speaking at the event, PM Modi said their sacrifices are not only being remembered in India but also globally through programmes in countries like the United States, Australia and New Zealand. Govt would also organise participatory events across India to inform people about the courage of Sahibzade.

When it came to our energy purchases, our national choices and national interest, were supposed to be subservient to the political correctness of other countries, who by the way, had made their own arrangements.”
