President of South Africa Cyril Ramaphosa arrived in Delhi on September 08. Ramaphosa landed in the National Capital to attend G20 Leaders’ Summit. He was received by the Minister of State for Railways, Coal and Mines, Raosaheb Patil Danve. The mega event G20 Summit 2023 is scheduled to take place on September 9 and 10 in New Delhi. The summit will be organised at ‘state-of-the-art’ Bharat Mandapam in Pragati Maidan.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived at the Summer Place in Johannesburg on August 22 for the BRICS Leaders Retreat and to deliberate on global developments with other leaders of the bloc. The leaders of the BRICS member states posed for a group photo at the Summer Place when they arrived to participate in the BRICS Leaders Retreat. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while addressing the gathering at BRICS Business Forum Leaders’ Dialogue in Johanessburg, said that India will become the growth engine for the world in the coming years, and underlined that the country is on its course to become USD 5 trillion economy soon.

PM Modi is visiting South Africa to attend the 15th BRICS Summit at the invitation of South African President Matamela Cyril Ramaphosa. South Africa is set to hold the much-anticipated BRICS Summit in the national capital Johannesburg from August 22-24. This is PM Modi’s third visit to South Africa and the trip marks the 30th anniversary of the diplomatic relationship between India and South Africa. During the visit, the PM will also participate in a special event “BRICS – Africa Outreach and BRICS Plus Dialogue” being organized after the BRICS Summit, which will include other nations invited by South Africa. He will also hold bilateral meetings with some of the leaders present in Johannesburg. Following his visit to South Africa, PM Modi will travel to Greece on August 25. During his visit, he will hold a meeting with his Greek counterpart Kyriakos Mitsotakis and discuss ways to further deepen the ties between the two nations. He will also interact with business leaders from both countries. He will also interact with the Indian community in Greece.
External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar on June 01 delivered his opening remark at the BRICS meet, which is being held in Cape Town, South Africa. During his address, he highlighted the need of countering the global issue of terrorism and said that the BRICS grouping must act as a symbol of change.
12 Cheetahs all set to reach India on February 18 from South Africa. They will join 8 cheetahs from neighbouring Namibia. The animals were sedated and loaded into crates. 7 males, 5 females cheetahs South Africa has promised India. Cheetahs loaded onto Galaxy Globemaster C17 of IAF. Aircraft is expected to reach Madhya Pradesh at around 10 am. Cheetahs will be released at Kuno National Park in Gwalior. They will be kept in quarantine enclosures for 30 days.
