Ghee Podi Idli
The Bengaluru foodie who we spoke to told us it is a must-try at Rameshwaram Cafe, and we totally agree because when we ate the dish, it was heavenly. Loaded with ghee and podi powder, the large fluffy idli was extremely soft, and melted in the mouth, and perfectly paired with the sambar and coconut chutney, and is a meal in itself
Filter Coffee
No South Indian meal is complete without the filter coffee, and even while you are dining here, Rameshwaram Cafe gets its filter coffee perfectly right, and sipping on the warm beverage is ideal while dining there
Medu vada
While the medu vad is an eternal favourite, this is a classic for a quick breakfast for everybody in the neighbourhood before they get to work. Served with the chutney and sambar, it is crisply fried and extremely light, and that is what makes it perfect for us
Pongal
Enjoying pongal is a feast, and the cafe serves many different kinds of pongal including the venn pongal, which is the sweet kind, and a must for anybody who wants to enjoy South Indian food beyond the classic dishes
Benne Dosa
Amid the Benne Dosa popularity in Mumbai, Rameshwaram Cafe serves many different varieties of Benne Dosa including Ghee Podi Benne Dosa, and it is certainly a favourite for us. Loaded with batata bhaji (spiced potato mix) and ghee, the Benne Dosa at the new cafe is a complete meal
Filter Coffee Ice cream
The filter coffee ice cream is perfect if you love the classic South Indian beverage, as it combines the flavours of the traditional coffee in the form of an ice cream, and just enough to satiate your craving for something sweet, after a delicious meal
Mysore Pak Ice cream
Bringing the best of Karnataka to Mumbai in an innovative form, the Mysore Pak ice cream is a thorough treat for everybody who loves the traditional sweet, and is open to try out something new in the city
