During the question hour in the Lok Sabha, Congress leader Adhir Chowdhury asked Sitharaman the reason behind the "indiscriminate and arbitrary attitude" of the Centre towards Karnataka. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on February 05 dismissed Congess’ Adhir Chowdhury’s claims of ‘partiality’ with the non-BJP ruled states. Ms Sitharaman responding to the same explained that "devolution to states... happens as per Finance Commission recommendation", and that she had no "discretion" in allocation of tax revenues. This discussion was happening around the Interim Budget presented by the Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on February 1st.
