Pakistan Elections 2024: US issues warning to Americans in or traveling to Pak

The State Department of the United States has issued a travel advisory for its citizens in or traveling to Pakistan. The US has advised its citizens to be vigilant ahead of Pakistan general elections 2024 scheduled for Feb 08. In the advisory, the State Department has highlighted potential disruptions and safety concerns during political activities of Pakistan Elections 2024. It also mentioned that in some instances, political activities in Pakistan have been targeted for violence.

Nijjar Row: Shashi Tharoor criticises Trudeau’s allegation on India

Amid the ongoing Nijjar row, senior Congress leader Shashi Tharoor criticised the expulsion of the Indian diplomat from Canada. The strained relationship between India-Canada reached an all-time low after the Canadian PM alleged India’s involvement in Khalistani leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar’s killing. The allegation triggered a political storm as Canada expelled a top Indian diplomat and stated his involvement in Nijjar’s murder. Hours later, India rejected the allegation made by Canada and expelled a Canadian diplomat in a tit-for-tat move.

Nijjar Row: Canada issues fresh travel advisory for India

In the ongoing Nijjar row, Canadian authorities have updated its travel advisory for India to ‘exercise a high degree of caution’. Canada has advised to avoid all travel to the border regions of J&K, Gujarat, Punjab and Rajasthan. Hardeep Singh Nijjar, for whom Trudeau is raising his voice, was a designated terrorist of Khalistan Tiger Force. Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Nijjar was shot dead outside a Gurudwara in Canada’s Surrey in June 2023.

PM Modi Kickstarts Projects Worth Rs 38,000 crores In Mumbai

Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Mumbai today and was received at the airport by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Governor Bhagat Singh Koshiyari. PM Modi, along with Union ministers Piyush Goyal, Ramdas Athavale and Bhagwat Karad reached BKC’s MMRDA ground to address a public rally and inaugurate several development projects, including the metro services, the Mumbai One App and NMMC Card. He also inaugurated 20 Babasaheb Apla davakhanas and initiated the redevelopment of municipal hospitals at Oshiwara, Goregaon, Bhandup. PM also started seven waste water treatment facilities with 2464 capacity mld, and boosted concretisation of road works worth rs 6079 crores. His visit also included the initiation of redevelopment of csmt and transferring money directly to 1 lakh plus beneficiaries under the PM Svanidhi Fund.
