On November 09, Antony Blinken landed in India for the 5th India-US 2+2 Ministerial dialogue. The dialogue will provide a platform for top-level discussions between the US and India. The meeting will address critical bilateral and global matters, with special emphasis on developments unfolding in the Indo-Pacific region. Earlier, US Secretary of Defence Lloyd Austin also arrived in the national capital to attend the ministerial dialogue. He was received by his Indian counterpart Rajnath Singh.

The US Secretary of State Antony Blinken on Nov 03 landed in Israel’s Tel Aviv. Reuters reports that the US’ top diplomat has visited Israel to push for humanitarian pauses in the Gaza war. Israel has said that the Defense Forces have surrounded Gaza and the focus of its drive is to annihilate Hamas. Notably, this is Antony Blinken’s second visit to war-hit Israel in a month. This time, he will discuss steps with PM Netanyahu to minimise harm to civilians in besieged Gaza. As per Reuters, Gaza health authorities say at least 9,061 people have been killed in Gaza since Israel launched its assault. On the other hand, Israel says Hamas killed 1,400 people and took more than 240 hostages in the attacks on Oct 7.

Amid the Israel-Hamas Conflict, US President Joe Biden's top advisers asked lawmakers to provide billions more dollars to Israel on October 31. The congressional hearing was interrupted repeatedly by a few protesters denouncing American support for Israel. The officials were heckled for backing what they called "genocide" against Palestinian citizens in Gaza. As the congressional hearing began, a line of anti-war protesters raised red-stained hands in the air. Protestors shouted slogans including, "Ceasefire now!" "Protect children of Gaza!" and "Stop funding genocide". Later, when Blinken was asked about the possibility of a ceasefire, he said that would only help Hamas regroup. Joe Biden requested $106 billion to fund ambitious plans for Ukraine, Israel, and US border security. Soon after the Kerala blasts incident, the blame game began as the BJP held the Kerala Government responsible. Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar held CM Vijayan responsible for the deadly incident. While speaking on the Hamas leader's virtual address at a pro-Palestine rally in Kerala and multiple explosions that rocked the convention centre in Kochi, BJP leader Anil Antony condemned the incident and criticized the CM Pinarayi Vijayan-led government in the state. Tamil actor Vishal Krishna Reddy has made serious allegations against the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) in Mumbai, claiming that they demanded a bribe of Rs 6.5 lakh for granting a U/A certificate to the Hindi version of his film 'Mark Antony.' He revealed that his team applied online for certification but was shocked by the corrupt practices at the CBFC office. Vishal explained that they were given an ultimatum: pay Rs 6.5 lakhs for certification, with an initial Rs 3 lakhs for a viewing fee and the remaining Rs 3.5 lakhs for the certificate. Now, UN Secretary-General lauded India’s efforts to become a voice of the Global South and bring nations on one platform.Amid geopolitical differences, G20 nations reached a 100 per cent consensus and adopted the New Delhi Declaration. In a landmark decision during G20 Summit 2023, the African Union became a permanent member of the group. Nine nations, which are not a part of the group, were invited for the G20 Leaders’ Summit in New Delhi. The G20 Foreign Ministers’ meeting has proved to be a significant event for India-China relations. Chinese Foreign Minister Qin Gang visited India for the first time after Tawang clash. EAM S Jaishankar also held a detailed bilateral meeting with his Chinese Counterpart. The leaders discussed current challenges, bilateral relationships and peace in the border areas. The G20FMM was also a test for Beijing’s balancing act between the US-led West and Russia in the midst of Ukraine crisis. India had also hosted US’ Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. Now, Russia has called for betterment in India-China relations amidst troubled situations at the border. Addressing the audience at Raisina Dialogue, Lavrov batted for improvement in India-China relations. He also talked about RIC (Russia-India –China), for which was initiated by his predecessor Yevgeny Primakov. Amid polarizing war, the divide between West and Russia-China came to the fore at G20 event. While there was no joint statement, India has managed to bring world leaders closer to consensus. Both US and Russia have lauded India for its stance on war, which calls for “a cessation of hostilities, return to dialogue”.

Speaking at Raisina Dialogue 2023 on March 03, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar shared three big issues and said that the world and the QUAD need to address them. He said, “Three big issues that the world and the QUAD need to address are - more reliable and resilient supply chains, digital transparency and how to live a more secure digital existence, and connectivity. I expect these to be a greater part of our agenda.” QUAD leaders were impressed by EAM S Jaishankar and thanked him for hosting them.
