Amid the uproar in Parliament led by the Opposition over the Parliament security breach issue, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on December 18 advised the Opposition to not politicize the issue as it is unfortunate and is against the dignity of the house. Ruckus was created by Opposition MPs during Question House in Lok Sabha over Parliament security breach incident. Speaker Om Birla said, “It is sad that politics is being done on this issue...To enter the Well of the House and sloganeering is against the dignity of the House. I request your (opposition) cooperation to hold discussions on important issues." Notably, on Dec 14, a major security breach incident took place during Parliament Winter Session. Security lapse in the Parliament took place during the live proceedings of Lok Sabha.

Lok Sabha proceedings on Tuesday began in the new Parliament building, located adjacent to the old one, starting a new chapter in the parliamentary history of India.
