Congress leader Shashi Tharoor on May 30 sharply reacted to the ace Indian wrestlers’ decision of immersing their medals in river Ganga as a mark of protest against the WFI chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, demanding his arrest. He expressed displeasure and called it a disgrace to the nation. Mamata Banerjee, Farooq Abdullah also slammed centre and demanded FIR against Brij Bhushan.

Protesting wrestlers rethink decision to immerse medals, give 5-day deadline

Farmer leader Naresh Tikait arrived in Haridwar on May 30 where wrestlers gathered to immerse their medals in river Ganga. He took their medals from the wrestlers and sought five-day time. Indian wrestlers reached Haridwar to mark their protest against WFI chief and BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh over sexual harassment allegations. Protesting wrestlers returned from Haridwar after Farmer leader Naresh Tikait intervened and sought five-day time from them.

PM Modi reacts to Congress' decision to ban Bajrang Dal in poll bound Karnataka

The Congress party on Tuesday released its manifesto for the upcoming Karnataka Assembly elections, in which it has stated that it is committed to taking firm and decisive action against individuals and organizations spreading hatred against communities on the grounds of caste and religion. The party's manifesto includes a promise to ban organizations like the Bajrang Dal and the Popular Front of India, stating that they violate the law and Constitution and promote enmity and hatred among communities. The manifesto was released by the party president Mallikarjun Kharge in the presence of former Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, KPCC President DK Shivakumar, and Congress spokesperson Pawan Khera. The manifesto called 'Sarva Janangada Shanthiya Thota' speaks of five guarantees, ie. Gruha Jyothi, Gruha Lakshmi, Anna Bhagya, Yuva Nidhi and Shakti. Reacting to this PM Modi in his rally in Karnataka's Vijaynagar said congress wants to lock up those who worship lord hanuman.
