Former Maharashtra chief minister Manohar Joshi passed away at the age of 86. Reportedly, he suffered a cardiac arrest on 21st February, Thursday and was immediately admitted to the ICU of P D Hinduja Hospital in Mumbai. Manohar Joshi passed away at around 3am on Friday due to age-related health complications. The news was confirmed by P D Hinduja Hospital chief operating officer Joy Chakravarty. Manohar Joshi had been suffering from health issues since May 2023. He suffered a brain hemorrhage, the previous year and since then his health wasn't in good shape. Born in Raigad district of Maharashtra in a Brahmin family, Joshi did his master of Arts and LLB from Mumbai University. He began his political career by being elected to the Legislative Council and served three terms from 1972 to 1989. He also became the Mayor of Mumbai from 1976 to 1977. He was elected to the Legislative Assembly from a Shiv Sena ticket in 1990. He served as CM of Maharashtra from 1995-1999. He was elected for a six-year term to the Rajya Sabha on 20 March 2006 after being defeated in the previous Lok Sabha election in the Central Mumbai constituency.

The 75-year-old was facing complications arising from metastatic malignancy, hypertension, and diabetes. He was admitted to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai on November 12 after his health condition became worse.

He was found dead at age 54 on October 28 at a Los Angeles-area home, several news outlets reported. It is reported that Perry was found dead in a hot tub or Jacuzzi. Matthew became a household name with his role as Chandler Bing in the famous American sitcom 'Friends'. The show ran for 10 seasons from 1994 to 2004 and he received a Primetime Emmy nomination in 2002 for his performance. Other than 'Friends', Perry appeared in other TV series such as 'Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip', 'Go On' and 'The Odd Couple’.

No immediate respite for locals in Himachal, as rain has been battering the state for the last few days. The hill state has been ravaged by landslides amid continuous rainfall in parts of Himachal. Mandi is facing a flood-like situation as the water level significantly increased. The river is flowing ferociously in the Mandi district above the danger level. Almost a decade after Jiah Khan's death by suicide, a special CBI court in Mumbai acquitted Sooraj Pancholi, who was Jiah's boyfriend and accused of abetting her for suicide. Pancholi's mother, Zarina Wahab, was also seen accompanying him in the Mumbai court. Pancholi was arrested in the case in June 2013 and released on bail in July 2013. Soon after a huge court relief, actor Sooraj Pancholi reacted on Instagram. Jiah's mother Rabia Khan, a key prosecution witness in the case, had told the court that she believed it to be a case of murder and not suicide. Reacting to the verdict, she reiterated that her daughter was killed and said she will approach the high court.
