Talking about the viral video in which AIMIM Chief Asaduddin Owaisi was seen praising a beef shop owner, Bharatiya Janata Party Lok Sabha candidate from Hyderabad constituency Madhavi Latha made attacks on him claimed that the latter doesn’t respect his on religion. "I don't understand how Asaduddin Owaisi became a barrister. He keeps talking about personal law. According to personal law, a 'Fatwa' is something that is to be obeyed by all... When there is a Fatwa that beef should not be consumed, then how is he going against the Fatwa. This means he does not respect his own religion... Is the life of a Muslim so small that it revolved around cutting and consuming beef? You are asking for votes on this?... Why is he making the lives of Muslims so small?... He should speak of getting an education and being something for the country... What does it mean to cut beef? Did he not get anything else to ask for votes?... It is a matter of surprise for me," said Madhavi Latha.

In 2018, an adult Tigress named Avni or T1 was shot dead in the Yavatmal district of Maharashtra by a civilian hunter accompanied by a team of Forest Department officials. Indian forest officials labelled Avni as the most dangerous ‘man-eater’ in post-independent India. Even before Avni was killed, a score of campaigns by animal activists and wildlife lovers were launched to save the tigress. After Avni was shot dead, her killing was termed as a ‘cold-blooded murder’ by animal lovers. Dr. Sarita Subramaniam, Director, Earth Brigade Foundation and a Tiger activist had taken over as a petitioner for Avni in the High Court and Supreme Court. In her words, she filed several PILs and petitions to bring justice to Avni but as of July 2023, is still waiting for action. Cyclone Biparjoy which formed over the Arabian Sea and recently made landfall on Gujarat's coastal area is now heading towards Rajasthan. A "red" alert has been issued for Jalore and Barmer districts of Rajasthan.
