PM Modi inaugurated India's first underwater metro in Kolkata on March 06. He received a warm welcome from the crowd as hundreds of people gathered to have a glimpse of him. The crowd chanted ‘Modi-Modi’, ‘Jai Shri Ram’ on PM’s arrival and he was seen waving at them. Prime Minister Modi also interacted with school students as they travelled in India's first underwater metro. PM Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of multiple connectivity projects worth Rs 15,400 cr in Kolkata. The Kolkata Metro extension includes the first transportation tunnel in India to pass under a major river.

A woman died and 17 others were injured after the stage collapsed during Jagran ceremony at Kalkaji Mandir in Delhi on Jan 27. According to Delhi Police, no permission was granted to hold the event, however, sufficient staff was deployed to maintain law and order. As per the temple’s priest, renowned singers like B Praak, Kanhaiya Mittal were present. There was a huge crowd in a tightly-packed venue. The kalkaji mandir tragedy happened when scores of devotees climbed the main stage to catch a glimpse of Punjabi musician B Praak. All the injured were shifted to the city’s AIIMS Trauma Centre, Safdarjung Hospital and MAX Hospital.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on November 20 while addressing a public meeting in Rajasthan’s Pali, guaranteed relief in fuel price in Rajasthan that if BJP is voted to power in the state. He said that prices of petrol and diesel would be reviewed to provide relief to the poor and middle-class people. PM Modi in Rajasthan said, "...In the neighbouring states of Rajasthan, there is a BJP government... There, petrol is Rs 97 per litre... But the Congress government in Rajasthan sells petrol at higher prices...I give a guarantee that after the BJP government is formed, the prices of petrol and diesel will be reviewed... This will give relief to the poor and middle-class people...."

Nationalist Congress Party (Sharad Pawar faction) leader Supriya Sule on Tuesday called the Central Government’s decision to reduce the prices of cooking gas cylinders as a ‘Jumla’ (political gimmick) and said that the government never thought about inflation over the past four and a half years. Earlier Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said that the reduction in prices of cooking gas cylinders will make the lives of women easier. Effective Wednesday, the price of a 14.2 kg LPG cylinder will be reduced by Rs 200 across the country. Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis on Wednesday inspected the under-construction Mumbai Trans-Harbour Link. The bridge is 22-km long between the metropolis and its satellite city Navi Mumbai. The six-lane road bridge, also known as Sewri-Nhava Sheva Trans Harbour Link, is being constructed by th e MMRDA. The bridge begins in Sewri in south Mumbai and terminates at Chirle near Nhava Sheva. A small function was held on the deck of the bridge, following which Shinde and Fadnavis went for a test drive towards Navi Mumbai in Shinde’s private high-end car. Fireworks were also seen upon the completion of test drive by the CM and Dy CM.

The Kochi Water Metro has started its commercial operations today. The service in the first route from High Court Water Metro Terminal and Vyppin Water Metro Terminal started. Kochi Water Metro, one of its kind project in the world connecting Kochi's islands to the mainland. The ticket rate for this route is Rs 20. The boat services will continue till 8 pm. Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the water metro on April 25th.
