Elon Musk confirms his visit to India, says he's excited to meet PM Modi

Tesla CEO Elon Musk is all set to come to India to meet PM Modi. He confirmed his visit to India in a post on X. This comes after it was reported that the billionaire will visit India this month and could make an announcement related to investment plans in the country which could be related to opening a new factory. Reportedly, Musk will meet Modi in the week of April 22 in New Delhi but he did not share any details about the same. As per reports, Musk is likely to be accompanied by other company executives during the visit. Elon Musk met PM Modi during the Prime Minster's US visit. The Tesla CEO had then said that he planned to visit India in 2024 while expressing confidence that the company would enter the Indian market soon. Watch video for more.

Watch: Tejas MK-1A successfully completes its maiden flight

In a historic milestone, indigenous LCA Mark 1A fighter aircraft on March 28 completed its first flight. The aircraft airborne for 15 minutes during its first maiden flight, as per Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL). Currently, two squadrons of IAF, 45 Squadron and 18 Squadron, are fully operational with LCA Tejas. HAL has current capacity to build 8 LCA aircraft per year, this is being increased to 16 aircraft's every year by 2025. In coming years the capacity will be further increased to 24 aircraft every year in the next 3 years. Over Rs 9000 crore have been sanctioned for the development of LCA Mk 2, an updated and advanced version of LCA Tejas. Earlier in the 2023, Air Chief Marshal stated that the Indian Air Force aims to replace the MiG-21 fighter jets with LCA Tejas.

Contradicting speculative news reports, US State Department confirms India-US

India's deal with the US of almost USD 4 billion, paving the way for the acquisition of 31 state-of-the-art MQ-9B Sky Guardian drones, will not only propel India's defence capabilities but also ensure a 16-fold increase in the number of aircraft, significantly enhancing New Delhi's maritime security beyond the current lease agreement. US State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller shed light on the recently approved foreign military sale of MQ-9B Remotely Piloted Aircraft to India. He said, "I cannot give a timeline. This was the initial step today. Notifying Congress of the exact timeline of the delivery is something that we will explore with the government of India over the coming months. "Highlighting the significance of the deal, Miller emphasised,"Almost USD 4 billion sale of 31 MQ-9B Sky Guardian aircraft will provide India with enhanced maritime security and maritime domain awareness capability. It offers India outright ownership and a 16-fold increase in the number of aircraft as compared to their current lease. "The Biden administration has today notified the US Congress of its intent to sell nearly 4 billion dollars worth of arms, comprising mainly MQ-9B drones armed with Hellfire missiles. The defence security cooperation agency, which is an agency within the US Department of Defence, said in a press release on Thursday that the sale helps in strengthening the US-Indian Strategic Relationship. It added that New Delhi continues to be an "important force for political stability, peace, and economic progress in the Indo-Pacific and South Asia region." Watch the full video for more details!

Chandrayaan-3: Pragyaan Rover confirms sulphur's presence on Moon's south pole

In a significant development, ISRO on August 29 shared major update about the Chandrayaan-3 rover. As per ISRO, Rover's onboard instrument, known as Laser-Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy confirmed the presence of sulphur in the moon’s south pole Nilesh M Desai, a senior ISRO Scientist, also confirmed the thrilling news.  On August 28, ISRO informed that Pragyan Rover came across a 4-meter diameter crater on the lunar surface. Nepal Plane Crash Update: No One Survived The Crash, Nepal Army Confirms

Nepal Army on Monday said they have not rescued anyone alive from the site of the plane crash that occurred on Jan 15 in the central resort city of Pokhara. "We haven't rescued anyone alive from the crash site," said Nepal Army Spokesperson Krishna Prasad Bhandari. A Yeti Airlines passenger plane crashed into a river gorge while landing at the newly-opened airport in Nepal's Pokhara. 72 people, including five Indians, on board, are feared to be dead. Nepal Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has called an emergency meeting of the Council of Ministers following Sunday's aircraft crash in Pokhara. Dahal has directed the country's home ministry, security personnel, and all government agencies to carry out immediate rescue and relief operations. PM Modi also expressed grief over the incident. "Pained by the tragic air crash in Nepal in which precious lives have been lost, including Indian nationals. In this hour of grief, my thoughts and prayers are with the bereaved families," PM Modi tweeted. In a statement issued earlier on Sunday, Nepal's Civil Aviation Authority said the flight carrying 68 passengers included, five Indians, four Russians, and one Irish national.
