Ahead of the grand consecration ceremony at Ayodhya’s Ram Temple on January 22, the passengers alighting from the first flight to the newly built Maharishi Valmiki International Airport Ayodhya Dham hailed PM Modi on December 30. They thanked PM Modi for giving them Ayodhya Airport as a gift. Passengers were also seen paying obeisance and chanting Jai Shree Ram while alighting the flight. “This land is pure and sacred, this is the land of Shri Ram. There can be no sacred ground like this. To pay obeisance here one should lie down. When Shri Ram got down from Pushpak Viman, the same experience was felt. There is no limit to happiness today. Today is the matter of greatest joy and happiness in my life,” said Bhaskar Shukla, a passenger from Delhi. On the other hand, another passenger, Nitin Lalwani from a Delhi flight said, “Ever since I was born I found Ayodhya, a city which was backward. But today there is a feeling that Ayodhya has become an international city. Now we are waiting for 22nd January when the Temple will be inaugurated. People will come from across the world to see Ayodhya, a pure land of Shree Ram.”, he said.

History was etched on Dec 30, 2023 as devotees boarded first flight from Delhi to newly built Maharishi Valmiki International Airport in Ayodhya. The passengers were all excited for their journey and they even recited ‘Hanuman Chalisa’ inside the flight. After landing in Ayodhya airport, some passengers kissed the ground and paid obeisance. PM Modi reached ‘Ram Nagari’ on December 30 and gave several infrastructural gifts to the locals. Maharishi Valmiki International Airport was inaugurated in Ayodhya by PM Narendra Modi. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on December 30 praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for inaugurating various projects in Ayodhya. He also said that the wait of 500 years is about to end with the consecration of Ayodhya Ram Mandir.

The Constitution Bench is headed by Chief Justice of India D.Y. Harish Salve, former Solicitor General of India, married his British partner Trina in London on Sunday. The wedding was attended by high-profile guests including Nita Ambani, steel tycoon Lakshmi Mittal and model Ujjwala Raut. However, it was former IPL chairman Lalit Modi’s presence that has stirred a political controversy, drawing flak from opposition parties. Lalit Modi, who lives in London, left India in 2010 amid investigations into alleged tax evasion and money-laundering. The Opposition questioned the "presence of a fugitive" at the wedding of Salve, one of the country's seniormost lawyers, who was also recently appointed to a high-level committee headed by former President Ram Nath Kovind to explore the possibility of 'One Nation, One Election’. Shiv Sena MP Priyanka Chaturvedi slammed the Centre over Lalit Modi's presence at the wedding. Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) also reacted to Lalit Modi’s presence at the wedding and called it a “black mark on PM Modi’s reputation”. After Indian Premier League (IPL) 2010, Lalit Modi was suspended from the BCCI after being accused of financial irregularities and misconduct. He has been in London since 2010 when he left India amid investigations into tax evasion and money-laundering cases.
