US Secretary of State Antony Blinken lands in Israel to push for humanitarian

The US Secretary of State Antony Blinken on Nov 03 landed in Israel’s Tel Aviv. Reuters reports that the US’ top diplomat has visited Israel to push for humanitarian pauses in the Gaza war. Israel has said that the Defense Forces have surrounded Gaza and the focus of its drive is to annihilate Hamas. Notably, this is Antony Blinken’s second visit to war-hit Israel in a month. This time, he will discuss steps with PM Netanyahu to minimise harm to civilians in besieged Gaza. As per Reuters, Gaza health authorities say at least 9,061 people have been killed in Gaza since Israel launched its assault. On the other hand, Israel says Hamas killed 1,400 people and took more than 240 hostages in the attacks on Oct 7.

Israel-Hamas Conflict: Trucks carrying relief materials enter Gaza through

Sigh of relief for the people of Gaza as 20 trucks carrying Humanitarian aid crossed Rafah border on Oct 21. Rafah crossing between Gaza, Egypt has been non-operational after Hamas launched surprise attack on Israel. International attention has focused on getting aid to Gaza through the access point not controlled by Israel, the Rafah crossing. Satellite images released on Oct 20 showed trucks lined up on the Egyptian side of Rafah crossing with Gaza. Aid from several countries was halted for days pending a deal for its safe delivery to Gaza. Also, hundreds of Palestinians desperately want to leave Gaza through the Rafah border crossing. Israel’s bombardment of Gaza, a 45-km-long (25-mile) enclave, has worsened conditions for 2.3 million people.

Israel-Palestine Conflict: Gaza faces burial space crisis amid the war

With both Israel and Gazans awakening to heavy explosive sounds, the deadly Israel-Palestine conflict entered its seventh day. Scenes of devastation, pain and agony were witnessed in both Israel and Gaza on October 12. But in a much more painful tale, Gazans are finding it extremely difficult to bury their loved ones as they are running out of burial spaces. Due to lack of space, people were compelled to bury their loved ones in random spots or being transported to other places. The death toll in Gaza has already passed 1,200 mark, and the numbers are showing no signs of slowing down. Meanwhile, more than 1,300 Israeli civilians have lost their lives since Hamas infiltrated Israel. Unfriendly neighbours Israel and Palestine are locking horns with each other after Islamic militant group Hamas infiltrated Israel and barbarically killed thousands of innocents and injured many others on October 07.
