Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on April 27 slammed Congress over politicization of Electronic Voting Machines. Slamming Congress, UP CM said that the people who are rejecting EVMs today are the same people who used to loot ballots. Speaking to ANI, he said, “Whenever Congress, Samajwadi Party, or any other party associated with the INDI alliance is losing elections, they make every effort to blame the defeat on EVMs. This is not the first time; we have been hearing this continuously since 2014. We want to ask these people that the Congress government formed in Himachal Pradesh and Karnataka last year, whether it was formed based on ballot paper? In 2009, the UPA government was formed at the Centre, was it made of ballot paper? In 2004, the UPA government was formed in the country, and in 2018, the Congress government was formed in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh, the AAP government was formed in Delhi, was it made of ballot paper?”

In a historic milestone, indigenous LCA Mark 1A fighter aircraft on March 28 completed its first flight. The aircraft airborne for 15 minutes during its first maiden flight, as per Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL). Currently, two squadrons of IAF, 45 Squadron and 18 Squadron, are fully operational with LCA Tejas. HAL has current capacity to build 8 LCA aircraft per year, this is being increased to 16 aircraft's every year by 2025. In coming years the capacity will be further increased to 24 aircraft every year in the next 3 years. Over Rs 9000 crore have been sanctioned for the development of LCA Mk 2, an updated and advanced version of LCA Tejas. Earlier in the 2023, Air Chief Marshal stated that the Indian Air Force aims to replace the MiG-21 fighter jets with LCA Tejas.

PM Modi implemented CAA on March 11. Union Minister for Housing & Urban Affairs, Hardeep Singh Puri took a sharp jibe at the political leaders opposing Citizenship Amendment Act. He said, “There are persecuted minorities in some of our neighbouring countries- Buddhists, Christians, Jains, Hindus, Sikhs, among others... In 1947, the population of Hindus in Pakistan was 24% which stands at 1% today. In erstwhile East Pakistan, there was a certain Hindu population but now there are just 7%. Some of these people who came to India before 2014 are being given a right. The people who are suddenly worried that these few immigrants will take away all jobs and resources need to know that our population is 140 crores and only 1000 people have registered on the portal so far. The number of people who had applied for citizenship under the Citizenship Act of 1955 is also just 4000. What is this completely distorted picture which is being presented? This is not about religion.

The pre-wedding ceremony of Anant Ambani and fiancee Radhika Merchant started with Anna Seva on 28th February in Gujarat's Jamnagar. Mukesh Ambani, Anant Ambani and other members of the Ambani family, along with Radhika Merchant, served traditional Gujarati food to the villagers. Radhika's maternal grandmother and parents - Viren and Shaila Merchant also took part in the 'anna seva'. The food is to be served to about 51,000 local residents and the practice will continue for the next few days. DMK leader and minister for fisheries and animal husbandry Anitha R Radhakrishnan rolled out an advertisement in the Tamil newspapers on Wednesday. The ad had an image of a rocket with a Chinese flag on its nose cone, instead of the image of an IRSO rocket. The ad was intended to celebrate New space sport in Kulasekarapattinam. BJP has accused DMK of disrespecting Indian's sovereignty. Prime Minister Modi who is on a two day visit to Tamil Nadu said that the ad insulted Indian scientists and is a waste of public money. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Tamil Nadu BJP President K Annamalai trained guns at DMK.

The Cabinet Committee on Security has cleared the Indian Navy’s proposals to buy 220 BrahMos extended-range missiles for its warships. The contract will be signed on March 05 and 220 BrahMos will be worth around Rs 20,000 crore. The extended-range BrahMos is speculated to have an extended range of around 800 km. This would be a major ‘Make in India’ success for the missile system built with Russia’s partnership. India’s BrahMos is a universal long-range supersonic cruise missile system that can be launched from land, sea, and air. Not only to just Indian Navy, but the indigenous BrahMos missile system will also be exported to the Philippines. In January, DRDO Chief Dr Samir Kamat informed ANI about the export of India’s missile system to the Philippines.
