Amid the ongoing Indo-Canadian Nijjar row, the US has been and will continue to remain in touch with Indians at high levels over Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's allegations that the Indian government was behind the killing of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar, US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan said on September 21 (local time). On whether US President Joe Biden intends to speak to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the issue and whether the allegations could disrupt the US efforts to boost its ties with India, Sullivan said, "I am not going to get into the private diplomatic conversations that have either already happened or going to happen on this topic. Only to say that we have been and will be in contact with Indians at high levels on this issue. It is a matter of concern for us. It is something we take seriously,” said Jake Sullivan.

USA NSA Jake Sullivan addressed a press briefing on September 05 and briefed upon US President Joe Biden’s visit to India for the G20 summit and shared key details of the upcoming visit. He further thanked Prime Modi’s leadership and India’s leadership for the summit. He said, “On Thursday, the President will travel to New Delhi, India, to attend the G20 Leaders’ Summit. On Friday, President Biden will participate in a bilateral meeting with Prime Minister Modi of the Republic of India. On Saturday and Sunday, the President will participate in the official sessions of the G20 Summit. And thanks to the leadership of Prime Minister Modi and India’s presidency.” Further replying to a question related to tensions between India and China and its impact on the G20 summit he said that, “If China wants to come in and play the role of spoiler, of course, that option is available to them.”

Days after the historic Chandrayaan-3 landing, Rover ‘Pragyan’ performed a stunning maneouver. Rover ‘Pragyan’ was seen rotating in search of a safe route on the surface of the moon. The rotation was captured by a high-resolution Imager Camera of Lander Vikram. Taking to X, ISRO cited it as “a child is playfully frolicking in the yards of Chandamama”. Earlier, ISRO shared the first observation from the ChaSTE payload onboard Vikram Lander. ChaSTE measured the temp profile of lunar topsoil around the pole, to understand thermal behaviour of Moon’s surface. In the history of space science, it was the first time that temp profiling is being done around south pole of moon.

Former ISRO Chief K Sivan has exuded confidence in the Chandrayaan-3 mission. The Lander Module is inching closer to the Moon's surface and the world is waiting for its soft landing scheduled on August 23. Speaking to ANI, K Sivan said that the mission would be a “grand success” this time. Sivan also said that corrective measures have been taken in Chandrayaan-3 based on the learnings from Chandrayaan-2. In 2019, India’s second lunar mission could not make a soft landing on the Moon's surface. Chandrayaan-3 is a follow-up mission of Chandrayaan-2 and it has reached its final stage.
