The Rouse Avenue Court sent AAP supremo to judicial custody till April 15 in the Delhi excise policy case. Following the arrest of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in the excise policy case by ED, AAP workers have called for a 'gherao' outside Prime Minister Narendra Modi's residence, denouncing the arrest. Protesters voiced slogans against the detention. Delhi Police also detained Punjab Minister and AAP leader Harjot Singh Bains along with a few AAP workers who were protesting. Speaking on the AAP protest in Delhi today, party leader Reena Gupta said, "We demand that Arvind Kejriwal should be released immediately. His arrest is illegal. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) held a press conference on March 25, during the PC AAP leader and Delhi Minister Atishi attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi over Arvind Kejriwal’s arrest in connection with the alleged liquor policy scam. She said PM Modi is scared of Arvind Kejriwal as he is the only one who can challenge him so he wants to eliminate him. "BJP's political weapon ED arrested Kejriwal in a fake case. In a case which even after two years of investigation not even single Rupee proceeds of crime was recovered from any of the AAP leaders. Arvind Kejriwal was arrested after the ECI announced the dates of Lok Sabha elections in a case whose investigation has been on for two years ," said Atishi Marelna while addressing a press conference at party headquarters in Delhi.
