Prime Minister Narendra Modi, President of Sri Lanka Ranil Wickremesinghe, and Prime Minister of Mauritius Pravind Jugnauth on February 12 witnessed the launch of Unified Payment Interface (UPI) services in Sri Lanka and Mauritius, and also RuPay card services in Mauritius, via video conferencing. The launch will enable the availability of UPI settlement services for Indian nationals travelling to Sri Lanka and Mauritius as well as for Mauritian nationals travelling to India. The extension of RuPay card services in Mauritius will enable Mauritian banks to issue cards based on the RuPay mechanism in Mauritius and facilitate usage of RuPay Card for settlements both in India and Mauritius.

ISRO launched X-Ray Polarimeter Satellite from the first launch-pad, SDSC-SHAR, Sriharikota in Andhra today. The mission would carry primary payload XPoSat and ten other satellites to be deployed in low earth orbits. XPoSat mission is India’s first dedicated polarimetry mission to study various dynamics of bright astronomical X-ray sources in extreme conditions. This is India’s first dedicated mission to study emissions from black holes, neutron stars. On Sept 02, ISRO successfully launched its much-anticipated ‘Aditya-L1’ mission to Sun from Satish Dhawan Space Centre. The PSLV-C57.1 rocket carrying the Aditya-L1 orbiter, lifted off successfully. PM Narendra Modi took to X (formerly Twitter) and congratulated ISRO scientists for the successful launch. MoS Jitendra Singh also termed the launch, a ‘sun shine’ moment for India. Aditya-L1 spacecraft is to be placed in the halo orbit around the Lagrange Point 1 (L1) of the Sun-Earth system. It is about 1.5 million kilometres away from the Earth. Lagrange Point 1 (L1) is where the gravitational pull of both the Sun and the Earth equalises. Placing the satellite in the halo orbit around the L1 point has the advantage of continuously seeing the Sun without any eclipses.

Reliance Jio, on Monday, announced the launch of its new AirFiber services. With this, the company plans to provide 1,50,000 connections per day. The company claims to expand Jio's network to over 200 million users. The company claims that it has around 10 million JioFiber customers and the network is spread across 1.5 million kms. On July 30, ISRO launched PSLV-C56 with six co-passenger satellites from Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC), Sriharikota. PSLV-C56 / DS-SAR is the Dedicated Commercial Mission of NewSpace India Limited (NSIL) for ST Engineering, Singapore. School students witnessed the PSLV-C56 Mission first-hand and hailed the launch of the satellite. The primary satellite in the mission was DS-SAR, a Radar Imaging Earth Observation satellite, in addition to it 6 co-passenger customer satellites belonging to Singapore were also launched. This is the 58th flight of PSLV and the 17th flight of PSLV in Core Alone configuration.
