On 24th of April, a gruesome murder took place near India Gate, New Delhi. A 25-year-old ice cream vendor named Prabhakar was stabbed to death during a fight near India Gate late Wednesday evening. A case of murder was registered under Section 302 IPC. The preliminary investigation suggests that Prabhat was selling ice cream when he had an argument with a customer over payment. The matter escalated and the accused stabbed Prabhat with a knife, before running away from the crime spot. Prabhat rushed to the hospital but was declared dead by the doctors. The police arrested the accused, who was on the run after identifying him with the assistance of CCTV cameras installed in nearby shops. He has been brought to the police station for further information.

The BJP candidate from the Hyderabad Lok Sabha constituency, Kompella Madhavi Latha on Sunday ridiculed the complaint filed against her controversial arrow gesture towards a mosque and said if she were against the Muslims, then why would she participate in a procession during the holy month of Ramzan and distribute food to many people with her own hands?Reacting to this, she told ANI, "On the occasion of Ram Navami...for a Dhanush that didn't exist, for the Teer (arrow) that didn't exist, and for the reaction of the teer coming out that wasn't there, they made a false video of mine...They have made an allegation and registered an FIR..."Owaisi, who has served four terms in the Lok Sabha as the elected representative from Hyderabad since 2004, was previously elected as an MLA twice in the erstwhile undivided Andhra Pradesh. The Hyderabad Lok Sabha constituency comprises seven assembly segments--Bahadurpura, Chandrayangutta, Charminar, Goshamahal, Karwan, Malakpet and Yakatpura. All assembly seats, except Goshamahal, are presently held by the AIMIM. Since 1984, candidates from the Owaisi family or those supported by them, have been elected from Hyderabad, with Asaduddin Owaisi currently serving as the Lok Sabha member from the prestigious seat.

One of the largest operations carried out by security forces in Chhattisgarh’s Kanker in which 29 Naxalites were gunned down and huge quantities of arms and ammunition were also recovered. On the Kanker encounter, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said, "Yesterday, security forces achieved great success in Chhattisgarh. Ever since Modi ji became the Prime Minister, the BJP government has launched a continuous campaign against Naxalism and terrorism.” IG Bastar P Sundarraj said, "Yesterday, an encounter broke out between security forces and Naxalites which lasted for around 4 hours. Teams of DRG and BSF cordoned off the area and as a result, 29 bodies of CPI Maoists were recovered, out of which 15 were female and 14 were male. Arms and ammunition were recovered in large quantities from the spot. The autopsy of bodies of the Maoists are underway."

In a massive success, security force officials foiled a major conspiracy to disrupt peace in Chhatisgarh’s Kanker, days ahead of LS Polls. In a high-voltage encounter with Naxals, security forces killed at least 29 Maoists in the region. As per police, 3 jawans were also injured during the exchange of fire and were shifted to a higher centre for better treatment. In a shocking incident, Bharatiya Janata Party MLAs were marshalled out of Delhi Assembly on raising slogans over slogans over Delhi Jal Board alleged scam on 8th of April. The BJP MLAs staged a protest near Mahatma Gandhi's statue inside the Assembly premises. The BJP legislators started demanding a discussion on alleged irregularities in the DJB. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar addressed the Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Ahmedabad on April 02. While addressing the event, the External Affairs Minister categorically spoke about the India-China issues. He further hit out at India’s first Prime Minister Jawahar Lal Nehru-led government and alleged that they made policies that favoured China more than India itself. External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar said, "In 1950, there was an exchange of views between Sardar Patel and (Jawaharlal) Nehru... Sardar Patel had warned Jawaharlal Nehru about China. Sardar Patel said that today we are facing a situation of two fronts (Pakistan and China), which for India has never happened in our history before. Sardar Patel also said that whatever the Chinese are saying, he feels that their intent is not good, and therefore, let us take precautions, and build a policy around this. Nehru's position was that he was completely dissenting. He replied to Patel that you are unnecessarily suspicious of the Chinese... Also, it is impossible for anybody to attack us across the Himalayas".

Over 600 lawyers have written a letter to CJI DY Chandrachud expressing concerns against a “vested interest group”. Lawyers expressed serious concerns against the actions of a specific interest group aiming to undermine the judiciary's integrity. Reacting to lawyers’ concerns, PM Modi on March 28 took a dig at INC saying that “bullying others is vintage Congress culture”. Notably, the letter has been signed by top lawyers including senior advocate Harish Salve, SC Bar Association Prez Adish Aggarwala. As per lawyers, the group is putting pressure tactics to influence judicial outcomes, particularly in cases involving political figures.
