LTT Railway Station Fire: Fire in Canteen at LTT Railway Station in Mumbai

A massive fire broke out in an eatery at Mumbai’s Lokmanya Tilak Terminus railway station on 13th December. The blaze erupted in the Jan Aahar canteen on platform number 1 of the LTT station at 2.45 pm. The fire brigade reached the spot and controlled the fire by 3:30 pm. The passengers were evacuated from the station and two vehicles of the fire brigade rushed to the spot to douse the flames. The video of the incident circulated on the social media in which black smoke rising above the roof of the railway station could be seen. Officials said that nobody has been injured in the incident of LTT Railway Station Fire.

Platform ticket prices rise from Rs 10 to Rs 50 at key Mumbai stations

The Central Railway has increased the price of platform tickets for passengers at some key stations in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region to avoid overcrowding during the upcoming summer season, in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, an official confirmed on 2nd March. CR's chief public relations officer Shivaji Sutar confirmed that a platform ticket now costs Rs 50 instead of the previous rate of Rs 10 at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, Dadar and Lokmanya Tilak Terminus in Mumbai, and neighbouring Thane, Kalyan, Panvel and Bhiwandi Road stations.
