A massive dramatic protest broke out at Maharashtra Mantralaya by farmers in Mumbai on August 29. The farmers demonstrated outside and inside the building demanding compensation and rehabilitation for their land. The agitated farmers entered the building through all the possible ways. Security force personnel deployed at the site tried to control the farmers. They also detained some of the protestors during the demonstration. Notably, as per the farmers, they have been protesting for 105 days for their demands.

Ishwar Gayakar (36) and his wife, who hails from Pune's Junnar taluka, do not intend to stop at this. The farmer couple has set a target to earn ₹3.5 crore with a stock of around 4000 crates of tomatoes available with him. Gaykar is farming since 2005. He took over farming from his father and now he works at his farm with his wife. Other than tomatoes, Gaykar also cultivates onions and flowers in respective seasons.

Visuals of the rally show the farmers meandering roads and different terrains while inching close to the Maximum City. The march started from Dindori in Nashik district, has been organised by the CPM and covered 200 kms to reach Mumbai. Organisers said that besides farmers, many workers in the unorganised sector, such as ASHA workers, and members of tribal communities have joined the march.
