Talking about the viral video in which AIMIM Chief Asaduddin Owaisi was seen praising a beef shop owner, Bharatiya Janata Party Lok Sabha candidate from Hyderabad constituency Madhavi Latha made attacks on him claimed that the latter doesn’t respect his on religion. "I don't understand how Asaduddin Owaisi became a barrister. He keeps talking about personal law. According to personal law, a 'Fatwa' is something that is to be obeyed by all... When there is a Fatwa that beef should not be consumed, then how is he going against the Fatwa. This means he does not respect his own religion... Is the life of a Muslim so small that it revolved around cutting and consuming beef? You are asking for votes on this?... Why is he making the lives of Muslims so small?... He should speak of getting an education and being something for the country... What does it mean to cut beef? Did he not get anything else to ask for votes?... It is a matter of surprise for me," said Madhavi Latha.

AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi on January 28 slammed Nitish Kumar after he rejoined hands with the Bharatiya Janata Party in Bihar. Reacting on Nitish Kumar Resignation, Owaisi said, “Nitish Kumar, Tejashwi Yadav, PM Modi should apologise to the people of Bihar... All three have betrayed the people of Bihar, especially Nitish Kumar. The term political opportunism will be an understatement, Nitish Kumar has broken all records. I always said Nitish Kumar would go with BJP. I want to ask Tejaswi Yadav how does it feel? He took away four of our MLAs. Does he feel the same pain now? He has been played the same way he played us. Nitish Kumar will just be the face of RSS and Narendra Modi’s governance in Bihar. Tejaswi Yadav and his family have sidelined the people of Bihar and their focus is to only have someone from among them to be the CM. Nitish Kumar wants to be the CM for as long as he lives. BJP just wants everything to themselves, by hook or by crook. The people of Bihar have been betrayed. There is no development in Bihar. Bureaucracy is on the rise in the state. AIMIM always said that political secularism is used to betray Indian Muslims. And now Muslims of Bihar have been betrayed again.”

Lok Sabha MP Asaduddin Owaisi on December 20 raised concern over new Criminal Laws. Owaisi questioned Centre over the men’s rights in the newly-introduced laws. A new record was set up in the new Parliament building in this winter session as three key Bills - Bharatiya Nyaya (Second) Sanhita, 2023; the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha (Second) Sanhita, 2023; and the Bharatiya Sakshya (Second) Bill, 2023 - were passed which will completely overhaul the country’s criminal laws.

AIMIM leader Akbaruddin Owaisi is popular for his controversial speeches. Recently, while addressing a public gathering in Lalitha Bagh, Hyderabad, campaigning for Telangana Polls, Akbaruddin Owaisi threatened a police inspector to leave after the former was asked to conclude his speech on time as per the Model Code of Conduct. Later, he went on to say "No one is yet born to stop him”. On the controversial Akbaruddin Owaisi’s speech, AIMIM Chief Asaddudin Owaisi backed his brother Akbaruddin Owaisi. Asaduddin Owaisi demanded the Election Commission (EC) to initiate an inquiry as to why his brother was asked to stop speaking at the rally. The Court of First Instance of Qatar has passed a verdict of the death penalty for the eight former Indian naval officers who have been Imprisoned in Qatar since October 2022. These ex-officers were accused of allegedly spying on a submarine programme. India’s Ministry of External Affairs said it is "deeply shocked" by the verdict and now awaits the detailed judgement.
