During a public rally in Rajasthan's Churu on April 4th, Prime Minister Narendra Modi revisited the memory of the 'Balakot airstrike' before reciting his renowned poem "Saugandh mujhe is mitti ki, main desh nahi mitne dunga." He reminisced about being in Churu at the time of the airstrike on February 26th. “When I came to Churu on 26th February 2019, at that time the country had carried out an air strike in Balakot. We had taught a lesson to the terrorists. At that time I had said I would not let Mother India bow down...When our army carried out surgical strikes and air strikes, Congress and the people of this 'Ghamandia' alliance were asking for proof. Dividing the country and insulting our army is the identity of the Congress Party”, said Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Amid the Indian-Canada row, the number of study permits for Indian students has sharply declined. The number of study permits Canada issued to Indian students fell sharply last year after India ejected Canadian diplomats. In an interview with Reuters, Canada’s Immigration Minister said, the number of study permits for Indians is unlikely to rebound soon. Diplomatic tensions erupted in June last year after Canadian PM Trudeau alleged India’s involvement in killing of pro-Khalistani Hardeep Singh Nijjar. In October, Canada was forced to pull 41 diplomats, or two-thirds of its staff, out of India on orders from New Delhi. With more than 41%, Indians have formed the largest group of international students in Canada in recent years. International students are a cash cow for Canadian universities as they bring in about C$22 billion annually. Canada is a popular destination for international students since it is relatively easy to obtain work permits after finishing courses. In 2023, Canada had projected that some 900,000 international students would study in Canada that year.

Former High Commissioner to Pakistan, Ajay Bisaria on January 09 revealed some untold secrets of return of then Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman from Pakistan. He said, “After Pulwama, India had taken action in Balakot, and that was followed by Pakistan's operation, which it called swift retort in India and as a result of which, an Indian pilot, Abhinandan, was captured. I've tried to present an account of the coercive diplomacy that took place after that, to get the pilot back. There was a very credible threat of force and use of nine missiles...Pakistan made the choice of returning the pilot, not wanting to escalate that conflict. In trying to de-escalate the situation, the Prime Minister of Pakistan attempted to call the Prime Minister of India. The Pakistani PM was then felt obliged to take a decision because the threat of force was very credible to return the pilot in order not to escalate the situation.”

The Archies Premiere: Zoya Akhtar's 'The Archies' is all set to release on Netflix on December 7. It marks the debut of Amitabh Bachchan’s grandson Agastya Nanda, Shah Rukh Khan’s daughter Suhana Khan, and Boney Kapoor’s daughter Khushi Kapoor. A day after TMC MP Mahua Moitra appeared before the Lok Sabha Ethics Committee over cash-for-query cash, the committee chairman and members revealed on November 3 what happened during the hearing. All the committee members alleged that the TMC MP went beyond the level of decency and used filthy language. After the hearing, Mahua Moitra said that opposition members raised questions over the line of questioning and asked “personal questions.” Moitra is facing 'Cash for Query' charges made by Dubey, who alleged that the Trinamool MP had taken bribes from Dubai-based businessman Hiranandani to raise questions in Parliament to target the Adani Group.
