Vijay Mallya & Nirav Modi Extradition: India to send CBI-ED-NIA team to UK

Fugitives Nirav Modi, Vijay Mallya now in trouble, as India sending its best team from Central Agencies to the UK. A high-level team of officers concerned from the CBI, ED, NIA would be heading soon to the UK to expedite fugitives. Nirav Modi, Vijay Mallya, defence dealer Sanjay Bhandari are India’s most wanted fugitives. PM Modi has brought up the issue of the extradition of fugitives in every India-UK trade-related meeting. Time and again, the delegations from the UK have faced India’s pressure for Vijay Mallya & Nirav Modi Extradition, as per sources. Vijay Mallya was ordered to be extradited by the British judiciary in 2019 and is yet to be sent to India. Nirav Modi has been held in custody at south London's Wandsworth prison since he was arrested in 2019. India and the United Kingdom have signed an extradition treaty on September 22, 1992.

PM Modi takes a jibe at oppn at 'Akhil Bharatiya Shiksha Samagam' inauguration

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on July 29 inaugurated ‘Akhil Bharatiya Shiksha Samagam 2023’ at Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan in New Delhi. While addressing the inauguration event, PM Modi took a jibe at the opposition and said that those who run the shop of hatred by doing politics of language will shutter down. Furthermore, he informed that now students can pursue their higher studies in the Indian regional language.  During the program, Prime Minister released the first installment of funds under the PM SHRI Scheme. These schools will nurture students in a way that they become engaged, productive, and contributing citizens for building an equitable, inclusive, and plural society as envisaged by National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. Prime Minister also released education and skill curriculum books translated into 12 Indian languages.

Oppn parties protest outside parliament, demand PM Modi's statement on Manipur

Leaders of several opposition parties on Monday staged a protest in Parliament complex demanding that Prime Minister Narendra Modi make a statement in the House on the Manipur issue. Holding placards and banners that read "INDIA for Manipur" and "INDIA demands PM's statement on Manipur", the opposition parties raised slogans against the government in front of Mahatma Gandhi's statue in Parliament complex. Congress MPs including Shashi Tharoor, Mallikarjun Kharge demanded PM Modi's statement on the matter in the houses.

Oppn meet: Bengaluru decks up, NCP supremo Sharad Pawar to skip Day 1 session

Big posters and banners were put up on Race Course Road in Bengaluru on July 17. The posters welcomed leaders of various opposition parties set to arrive for the joint Opposition meeting. Posters of Opposition leaders, including AAP's national convener and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, were put up at the venue. The first round of meetings is scheduled to take place on July 17 and the second round at Taj West End Hotel in Bengaluru on July 18. Top leaders of at least 26 political parties would attend the second Opposition unity meeting being convened by Congress. Rahul Gandhi was seen leaving for the meet with Sonia Gandhi. Meanwhile, Jairam Ramesh, DK Sivakumar briefed the media about the opposition meet. AAP leader Raghav Chadha while talking about the meet and absence of Sharad Pawar in the meet highlighted that the NCP chief is not attending the meet owing to the first day of Monsoon session of Maharashtra Assembly.
