ISRO attempted a Flight Test Vehicle Abort Mission, a key part of mission Gaganyaan, on October 21. However, the lift-off attempt failed because engine ignition could not happen in a nominal course. Gaganyaan Test Vehicle- Demonstration launch was put on hold at T-00:05 seconds. Later, taking to X, ISRO shared information that the reason for the hold was identified and corrected. Now, the Gaganyaan Test Vehicle- Demonstration launch is planned at 10:00 am.

US President Joe Biden on Oct 18 departed for Israel from the Joint Base Andrews, Maryland. He left for Israel as the Amman summit with Arab leaders cancelled after deadly hospital strike. Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived at the Bharat Mandapam on September 09 to attend the G20 Summit 2023. The PM was accompanied by EAM S Jaishankar and NSA Ajit Doval. The three held a discussion before the summit kicked off. The mega G20 Summit 2023 is scheduled to take place on September 9 and 10 in New Delhi. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has been granted bail by a Mumbai court on Wednesday in the 'unscheduled' rally case. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidates, Meera Sanyal and Medha Patkar, had held a rally to campaign for 2014 Lok Sabha election in Mankhurd, which the Mumbai Police had claimed was 'unscheduled' and was held without prior permissions from traffic police.

Scores of long-distance trains have been rescheduled and some have even been cancelled after heavy rains created havoc in Mumbai since Saturday. Passengers alleged that they have been waiting since morning but the authorities have failed to provide them any information. They further alleged that the authorities have even failed to provide them with facilities for the people with reserved seats. Incessant rains resulted in massive water logging, causing massive traffic jams and flood-like situation in many parts.
