He highlighted that Jaya Bachchan was a beloved figure on the sets of Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, contradicting the common misperception of her. In the film, Bachchan is cast as the strict, authoritarian matriarch of a rich business family, who isn’t easily pleased. Karan explained her role of Dhanlakshmi Randhawa is not an extension of her real-life personality.
