Tovino Thomas' Survival Drama '2018' is India's Official Entry To Oscars

Tovino Thomas' Malayalam film, 2018, has been chosen as India's official entry to the 96th Academy Awards. The survival drama based on the 2018 Kerala floods was directed by Jude Anthany Joseph and released earlier this year. A jury headed by noted director Girish Kasaravalli on Wednesday announced that 2018 has been India's selection for the Oscars in the Best International Film category. In an interview with Mid-Day during the promotions of 2018, Tovino, who was in the lead, spoke about the making of the film. Watch the full video for more!

4 seafarers working with a Navi-Mumbai-based company called TAG, have been living in deplorable conditions on-board two tugboats – TAG Rajvir and TAG Laxmi – since May last year, when their company became bankrupt.
