Indian envoy stopped from entering Glasgow Gurdwara

Amid row between India and Canada over killing of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Nijjar, Indian diplomat was heckled in Scotland. Indian High Commissioner to the UK Vikram Doraiswami was prevented from entering a Gurudwara in Glasgow. A video has been doing rounds on social media where a man was seen blocking Doraiswami from entering the Glasgow Gurudwara. Instead of getting into an argument, the Indian High Commissioner decided to leave in his car. The issue has been raised with the UK Foreign Office and also the police, according to sources. Sharply reacting to the incident, Sikh leaders from BJP slammed the pro-Khalistanis and said that anyone can enter a Gurdwara. This is not the first time that an Indian diplomat has faced such misbehavior. Earlier this year as well, Indian diplomats in Canada and UK have been openly threatened. UK High Commission was vandalized by Khalistani radicals in London in March. Notably, UK PM Rishi Sunak during his visit to India for G20 said he won’t tolerate extremism in the country

Former Principal Secretary to Prime Minister Narendra Modi Nripendra Misra on May 22 said that the PM was not keen on the introduction of the Rs 2,000 notes but went along with the advice of his team. “PM Modi was not at all in favour of Rs 2000 notes. But, as demonetisation was to be done in a limited time, he gave reluctant permission for it. PM never considered Rs 2000 note as a note of the poor, he knew Rs 2000 has hoarding value instead of the transactional value,” said Nripendra Misra.

RBI withdraws Rs 2000 notes from circulation, politicians react

The Reserve Bank of India on Friday announced the withdrawal Rs 2,000 note, from circulation, adding that the notes will continue to be legal tender. It said the existing Rs 2,000 notes can be deposited or exchanged in banks until September 30, but with a limit “Rs 20,000 at a time”. The central bank advised the public to deposit Rs 2,000 notes — introduced during demonetisation in November 2016, into their bank accounts and/ or exchange them into notes of other denominations at any bank branch. It also advised banks to stop issuing Rs 2,000 notes with immediate effect. This decision received praise as well as criticism from political fronts.

Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput passed away on June 14, 2020 at his rented apartment in Mumbai. It has been two years since then but the mystery around his alleged suicide is still afresh. Although, investigation termed the death as 'suicide', fans and family had been claiming foul play and demanded that justice be served. An employee who witnessed the autopsy of the actor made a shocking claim suggesting that the actor did not commit suicide and was, in fact, murdered. Roopkumar Shah, who was present at Sushant Singh Rajput's postmortem, said, "When Sushant Singh Rajput passed away, we had received five dead bodies in the Cooper Hospital for postmortem. Out of those five bodies, one was a VIP body. When we went to perform a post mortem, we learnt he was Sushant and there were several marks on his body and two to three marks on his neck as well. The postmortem needed to be recorded but higher authorities were asked to only click pics of the body. Hence, we did that as per their order." The 34-year-old actor was found dead in his apartment in Bandra on June 14, 2020. Starting with the Mumbai Police, Enforcement Directorate (ED), Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) were brought in to investigate various angles in the actor’s death. Later, the authorities ruled his death as a suicide.
