PM Modi Tamil Nadu Visit: PM Modi & Annamalai slam DMK Over "China Rocket" Ad

DMK leader and minister for fisheries and animal husbandry Anitha R Radhakrishnan rolled out an advertisement in the Tamil newspapers on Wednesday. The ad had an image of a rocket with a Chinese flag on its nose cone, instead of the image of an IRSO rocket. The ad was intended to celebrate New space sport in Kulasekarapattinam. BJP has accused DMK of disrespecting Indian's sovereignty. Prime Minister Modi who is on a two day visit to Tamil Nadu said that the ad insulted Indian scientists and is a waste of public money. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Tamil Nadu BJP President K Annamalai trained guns at DMK.

Kalkaji Mandir Tragedy: Woman loses life, 17 injured as stage collapses in Delhi

A woman died and 17 others were injured after the stage collapsed during Jagran ceremony at Kalkaji Mandir in Delhi on Jan 27. According to Delhi Police, no permission was granted to hold the event, however, sufficient staff was deployed to maintain law and order. As per the temple’s priest, renowned singers like B Praak, Kanhaiya Mittal were present. There was a huge crowd in a tightly-packed venue. The kalkaji mandir tragedy happened when scores of devotees climbed the main stage to catch a glimpse of Punjabi musician B Praak. All the injured were shifted to the city’s AIIMS Trauma Centre, Safdarjung Hospital and MAX Hospital.

14 killed after boat capsizes in Vadodara's Lake, govt forms high-level enquiry

A boat carrying children capsized in Vadodara's Harni Motnath Lake on January 18. 12 school children and two teachers were killed due to a boat capsizing incident. School children were on a picnic in Vadodara's Harni Motnath Lake when the mishap took place. The NDRF team is carrying out the rescue operations and rescued 20 people so far. Prime Minister Modi condoled the loss of lives due to a boat capsizing in Vadodara. He also announced an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh each to the next of kin of the deceased. Meanwhile, Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel reached the incident site and inspected the rescue operations. The CM has ordered a strong inquiry and relevant sections of IPC have been invoked against accused. FIR has been registered and 9 teams have been formed to arrest the accused. CM Bhupendra Patel also visited the postmortem centre located at SSG Hospital in Vadodara. He also met the families of the children who lost their lives in the boat capsize incident. State Govt has announced Rs 4 Lakhs each for the next of kin of deceased, Rs 50,000 for injured.

Drone visuals show the aftermath of the Andhra train accident. The deadly collision of the trains has led to immense loss of lives. The death toll has mounted to 11 and at least 50 people were injured in the tragic accident. The tragic train accident in Andhra Pradesh’s Vizianagram district has jolted the nation. One of the trains was operating from Vizianagram to Rayagada, Odisha. The other train was going from Visakhapatnam to Palasa, Andhra Pradesh. CPRO East Coast Railways informed that 18 trains have been cancelled and around 22 have been diverted.

Shiv Sena UBT Leader Aditya Thackeray on Monday, 9th October, in Sambhaji Nagar talked to the media about the horrific incident in Nanded hospital where as many as 31 deaths, including those of infants, were recorded in 48 hours since September 30. Thackeray questioned the Maharashtra Government's absence in taking accountability for this incident and said the opposition will do their duty, keep questioning the government and talk to the dean to know further about the incident and bring it to the public. Thackeray later also commented about the poll dates announced in 5 states today afternoon.

Atleast 24 patients, including 12 infants died in a govt hospital in Nanded

Amid the Opposition's outcry over the deaths of 24 individuals, including 12 infants, between September 30 and October 1, the Dean of Dr. Shankarrao Chavan Government Medical College and Hospital in Nanded, rejected accusations of negligence against the hospital on Tuesday. He stated that the deceased patients had various medical conditions such as diabetes, liver failure, and kidney failure. Shyamrao Wakode, dean of the hospital, emphasised that there was an ample supply of medicines and doctors, and the patients received appropriate care. However, their bodies did not respond to the treatment.  On Tuesday, Mallikarjun Kharge called for a detailed investigation into the case, stating that the incident was "extremely painful, serious, and worrying." Maharashtra Congress leader Ashok Chavan, visited the hospital and met the dean. Meanwhile, Minister of Medical Education of Maharashtra, Hasan Mushrif said a detailed investigation of the incident will be carried out.

2006 Mumbai train bombings anniversary: When Mumbai came to a standstill

On July 11, 2006, a string of powerful bombs ripped through Mumbai's commuter trains system in the evening rush hour, killing nearly 200 people and bringing India's financial capital to a standstill. Seven blasts were triggered in the span of 11 minutes in the first-class suburban train compartments. The first bomb went off shortly after 6.20 pm in the Western Railway suburban train running from Churchgate to Borivali. The bomb exploded when the train was between Khar and Santacruz stations. Another bomb exploded at the same time in a local between Bandra and Khar Road. Most of the commuters in these trains were executives, businessmen, employees of government and private establishments and college students. Five more explosions occurred in Jogeshwari, Mahim Junction, Mira Road-Bhayander, Matunga-Mahim Junction and Borivali. Cyclone Biparjoy: ICG Dhruv helicopter evacuates 50 personnel off Gujarat coast

In view of the intensification of cyclone Biparjoy, 50 personnel have been evacuated by the ICG. All 50 personnel were evacuated on June 13 from jack-up rig 'Key Singapore' operating off the Dwarka coast near Okha, Gujarat. The evacuation was carried out by the Indian Coast Guard’s ALH Dhruv helicopters. For precautionary measures, NDRF teams have been deployed in Gujarat’s Dwarka. Police have been deployed near the coast in Gujarat's Navsari to prevent people from venturing into the sea.

Coromandel Express resumes services days after the tragic accident

Days after the frightening train accident which claimed lives of at least 275 people and left over 900 people injured the ill-fated Coromandel Express is all set to resume its services on June 07 as per its scheduled time. Railway’s CPRO Aditya Kumar Chaudhary on June 06 updated about the train timings. In a tragic 3-way accident, 2 passenger trains and a good train collided with each other near Bahanaga Railway Station in Balasore on June 02. Around 10-12 coaches of Coromandel Express derailed near Bahanaga Railway station and ‘infringed’ into the opposite track. Another train coming on the same track, side crashed into the derailed coaches of Coromandel Express and also got derailed.
