Addressing BJP National Convention 2024, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on February 18 broke down while paying tribute to Acharya Vidhyasagar Ji Maharaj. He said, “Today, I want to pay tribute to Acharya Shri 108 Vidhyasagar Ji Maharaj. After getting information about his death, everyone is deeply saddened. For me, this is a personal loss. I got to meet him and take guidance from him a lot of times. When the last time, I visited him, I was not aware that I would not be able to have his darshan ever again.”

Ahead of the global premiere of the highly anticipated Amazon Original series 'Indian Police Force' on January 19, 2024, Prime Video and Rohit Shetty Picturez honoured the Delhi Police Officers at a special event 'Indian Police Ko Salaam' in New Delhi celebrating 75 years of Indian Police Service. Shilpa Shetty spoke about the prides she felt of herself for playing the role of a cop. “It has been an absolute honour to wear the uniform," said Vivek Oberoi. National Unity Day is celebrated on 31st Oct every year to mark the birth anniversary of Sardar Patel. Today marks the 148th birth anniversary of the ‘Iron Man of India’, Sardar Patel. PM Modi visited the Statue of Unity in Gujarat and paid floral tribute to the ‘Iron Man of India’. Flower petals were showered by choppers on Sardar Patel, the world's tallest statue of India. PM Modi also administered the 'National Unity Day' pledge to the public at Ekta Nagar in Gujarat. CRPF all-women bikers also received grand applause from PM Modi and the public at the National Unity Day parade.

Days after Canada faced humiliation over tribute to Nazi veteran in Parliament, Russian President Vladimir Putin launched a blistering attack. Prez Putin said he is “disgusted” over honouring of Nazi veteran in the Canadian Parliament by the Speaker Anthony Rota. In a major gaffe, Nazi veteran was invited to the House during Ukrainian President Zelenskyy’s visit last month. Terming the tribute to Nazi veteran disgusting, Putin questioned the Canadian Parliament Speaker, who resigned after the blunder. Russian President also lambasted the former Canadian Speaker over the Nazi gaffe in Parliament. Vladimir Putin also slammed Ukrainian Prez Volodymyr Zelenskyy over the embarrassing incident. While Puttin came down heavily on Canadian Parliament’s gaffe and Zelenskyy, he praised PM Modi at the discussion forum.

August 16, 2023 marks the fifth death anniversary of former PM and BJP stalwart Atal Bihari Vajpayee. President Droupadi Murmu and VP Jagdeep Dhankhar paid floral tributes at the 'Sadaiv Atal' memorial today. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also reached the 'Sadaiv Atal' memorial to pay homage to the former PM. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla also paid tributes to the former PM. Born in Gwalior in 1924, Vajpayee was BJP’s face for decades and was the first non-Congress PM to serve a full term in office. Vajpayee breathed his last on August 16, 2018, after a prolonged illness.

On the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas, a wreath-laying ceremony was held at Kargil War Memorial in Ladakh. Tributes were paid to the soldiers who sacrificed their lives in the 1999 Kargil War. Army Chief General Manoj Pande laid a wreath at the War Memorial. Other than him, Indian Navy Chief R Hari Kumar also paid homage to the soldiers. Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari paid tribute to the soldiers. Chief of Defence Staff Anil Chauhan also laid wreath at the Kargil War Memorial. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also reached Ladakh to pay homage to the soldiers who lost their lives. Lt Governor of Ladakh, BD Mishra also reached the War Memorial to pay homage to the soldiers. Kargil War was one of the toughest wars fought in the most inhospitable conditions, both due to its geographical and climatic conditions. During the war, the Indian Army recaptured the strategic peaks of Tololing, Tiger Hill, and Point 4875, among others.

Veteran actor and one of Bollywood's favourite 'moms', Sulochana Latkar has died. She was 94. Sulochana was known for her work in more than 200 Hindi films and many Marathi titles as well. She was a recipient of the civilian honour of Padma Shri. CM Eknath Shinde & Raj Thackeray paid tribute to the late actor Sulochana Latkar in Mumbai.
