Rajasthan Cricket Association may be in trouble soon with state police preparing to file "istgasa" (complaint) against the RCA for hiring a security agency and deploying them at the SMS Stadium illegally during the recent matches.

RCA hired a security agency during the South Africa ODI and a recent Indian Premier League match on April 7 but did not register it with the IG-Security office and Home Department under the RPSRA-2005.

"Police has completed its investigation and confirmed that the RCA hired 250 personnel for providing security cover to the SMS Stadium during ODI between South Africa and India and the IPL match on April 7," Inspector-General of Police (Range I) B L Soni told PTI today.

Soni said that it was a cognisable offence and a petition would be filed in a day or so with the criminal court.

"The personnel hired for the matches were not trained and not having legal registration also. Who or which agency would own the responsibility of any risk related to players and the spectators?" he asked.

Police would file the legal papers against the Chief Security Officer of the RCA, he said.

"The police in the state capital is very much competent and provide security cover to everyone," Soni said.

No RCA official was available for comment on the issue. Asked whether the security cover for the players was downsized, Soni said, "No, there were adequate security and no curtailment.

Armed cops are escorting the players at every point of their official movement."u00a0
