Australia skipper Ricky Ponting won the toss and elected to field against Pakistan.


Taking on Pakistan after having won their opener against West Indies, Australia need a win to ensure a berth in the last four.



However, if they lose against Pakistan and India, who take on West Indies later in this evening, win their encounter, the last semi-final berth will have to be deiced by the netrun-rate.

England, New Zealand and Pakistan have already secured their semi-final berths.u00a0
