Pune will make its debut as a Test centre in India today. Earlier, the Nehru Stadium played host to the three-day warm-up games for Australia and West Indies in 1970s and 80s.

The city has also witnessed 11 ODIs at the Nehru Stadium before international cricket in the city shifted to the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Gahunje village.

The stadium, with a sitting capacity of 37,500, has witnessed two T20 internationals and an equal number of ODIs, apart from a number of IPL encounters.
